Where is the work:
On-Site (5 days)
What you will do (duties and responsibilities):
Develop, implement, administer, and maintain applicable quality management system procedures and instructions
Provide daily Quality Engineering support within the manufacturing plant when quality issues arise, including representation at MDI and SQDIP meetings
Provide trend analysis of manufacturing plant defects and provide routine KPI charts and reports
Participate in cross functional processes such as MRB, Deviations, and NCMs, including providing input to disposition decisions for non-conforming products
Partner with Manufacturing Engineering and Operations to investigate root causes and drive implementation of corrective and preventive actions for internal issues and customer complaints while leveraging problem-solving tools of various complexity (5-Whys, PDCA, 9 Step, 8D, DMAIC, A3, etc.)
Provide insight and assistance while implementing and maintaining continuous improvements and process optimizations, concentrating on proactive approaches and methodologies
Maintain and provide periodic summary of key manufacturing quality related issues
What we expect of you (required):
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Engineering Technologies
A minimum of 5 years Quality Engineering experience working within a manufacturing environment supporting the factory shop floor using practical knowledge, experience and application of Lean principles and tools
Demonstrated understanding of quality principles and experience using/improving a QMS, including a range of documentation levels/types, within an ISO or similarly controlled environment
Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings and using various measurement equipment to quickly assess root cause of issues related to design, tolerancing, equipment performance, supplier performance, etc.
Understanding of part structure (BOMs, routings, etc.) and manufacturing environment documentation (standardized work, process maps, production floor layouts, time studies, etc.)
Experience using Quality Engineering tools and methods to systematically drive sustainable quality improvements in situations where only limited standardization exists, including a working knowledge of APQP principles
Strong attention to detail and project management skills, allowing organization and timely completion of simultaneous task/project assignments while maintaining sound judgment
Ability to write routine reports and communicate across multiple levels within the business and with suppliers as needed
Prior experience with ERP, PLM, and QMS systems
Nice to have (desired):
Experience working in a high-mix low-volume (HMLV) manufacturing environment
Awareness or knowledge of various manufacturing processes such as sheet metal fabrication (cutting, brazing, stamping, forming/bending, welding, etc.), electrical cable/harness assembly (crimping, soldering, ultrasonic welding, connector assembly, etc.), and packaging (bagging, boxing, kitting, etc.)
ASQ certification (CQE, CQA, CQT)
Familiarity with any of the following systems: Oracle (ERP), Windchill or Siemens Teamcenter (PLM), ETQ (eQMS)
