Title: Senior Packaging Specialist and Project Manager
Key Accountabilities:
Plan, initiate and manage complex cross functional projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule and scope(>$500K)Lead large scale international returnable packaging projects to reduce carbon footprint, cost of ownership across all Rolls-Royce Power Systems (RRPS)Drive integrated packaging and support material flow initiatives by designing and implementing packaging solutions that support efficient logistics and production processes, optimize handling and storage, reduce waste, and ensure safety and cost-effectiveness across the supply chainRepresent project progress towards internal stakeholders (Board of Executive Vice Presidents)Plan, direct and monitor activities of packaging projects to ensure financial goals and KPIs are documented and accomplished in a timely mannerProvide subject matter expertise and represent packaging engineering in various launches, providing technical specifications such as engineering development, work instructions etc., to both internal and domestic/international stake holdersDetermines timeframe, budget, staffing and other resources necessary for project implementation Orchestrate the project team and external international suppliers in accordance with project goalsAnalyze all aspects of corporate transportation to determine the most cost-effective and efficient means of transporting products or suppliesDevelop and implement packaging specifications for materials shipped from current and new vendors for productionRepresent, structure, and organize Aiken packaging engineering throughout the company and to the customerRepresent Rolls-Royce Solutions America in meetings with customers, suppliers, and industry groupsDirect inbound and outbound logistics operations, such as transportation and logistics quality managementSupport continuous improvement initiatives and the implementation of uniform and consistent processes Promote a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of Conduct Perform special projects as required.Basic Requirements:
Master’s degree in Mechanical Eng. or Supply chain management and 5 years of experience in packaging engineering; or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Supply chain management and 7 years of experience inpackaging engineering; or 11 years of experience in packaging engineering.
Preferred:
Excellent analytical ability and creative problem-solving skills when problems are complex Excellent organizational skills including the ability to lead/guide cross-functional project team(s) to project completion without formalized authorityStrong knowledge in project management.Strong leadership and management skills Strong project management knowledgeStrong oral and written communication skills. Highly effective organizational, planning and follow-up skills.Excellent knowledge in packaging testing, including both ISTA 3A and ASTM D4169.Experience in developing packaging engineering standards for multiple locations across the world.Experience in handling multiple suppliers to resolve packaging engineering issues domestically and internationally.Experience in developing sequencing with the use of custom packaging to reduce line space.Experience in design software such as Creo, Solid Works etc.Experience managing packaging engineering data base in SAPKnowledge of MTU products, policies, and proceduresKnowledge of multiple methods required to meet project goalsAbility to work under unusual or extreme pressuresRolls-Royce is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
