Operator III – Lab Support

Position Summary
The Operator III – Lab Support plays a critical role in ensuring the operational efficiency of manufacturing laboratories by managing supply needs across the entire operations team. This position requires strong organizational skills, the ability to problem-solve in a fast-paced environment, and the capability to work independently while collaborating with multiple departments. The Operator III will be responsible for maintaining optimal inventory levels, executing procurement tasks, utilizing inventory management systems, and ensuring uninterrupted production support.
Work Shift:Monday through Friday7:30 am to 4:00 pm
Key Responsibilities
Lab Supply Management – Oversee all lab supply needs for the operations team, including monitoring inventory levels, ordering supplies, stocking, and organizing work areas.Inventory Control – Perform routine and cycle inventory counts, reconcile discrepancies, and maintain accurate records in the inventory management system.Procurement Coordination – Partner with procurement teams as needed to source and order materials, track purchase orders, and expedite orders when necessary.Supply Chain Problem-Solving – Identify and implement alternative sourcing solutions when products are out of stock or discontinued to avoid production delays.Inventory Management - track orders, and produce reports in an inventory management system to uphold real-time supply visibility.SOP Compliance – Follow all safe work practices, SOPs, and internal quality standards for handling and storing materials.Operational Support – Maintain stocking levels of essential lab items to ensure no delays in the production schedule.Cross-Functional Collaboration – Work closely with manufacturing, quality, and warehouse teams to align supply needs with production goals.Continuous Improvement – Identify and recommend process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve turnaround time.General Duties – Assist with other lab support functions or perform additional responsibilities as assigned to meet business needs.Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree or higher preferred.3+ years of experience in a laboratory, manufacturing, or supply chain role.Demonstrated interpersonal strengths enabling successful juggling of various priorities in a fast-moving setting.Experience with computer business systems, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.Ability to learn and operate manufacturing and inventory-related software applications.Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.Preferred Qualifications
Experience with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar).Prior procurement or purchasing experience.Knowledge of supply chain principles, including vendor management and order tracking.Familiarity with laboratory operations and aseptic techniques.Physical Requirements
Ability to stand, walk, and be active for 6–7 hours/day while performing job duties, moving between labs and buildings on site.Ability to lift, carry, and move objects up to 40 pounds.
