The University of Miami/UHealth Central Business Office has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Senior Medical Posting Representative to work in Miami, FL. The Senior Medical Posting Representative oversees the effective and accurate processing and posting of insurance payments and refund requests for the department. Additionally, he/she researches and troubleshoots rejections, and investigates potential refunds.
CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
+ Assists supervising staff in maintaining quality control of all data.
+ Identifies potential problems on vouchers and corrects them.
+ Contacts physician offices, when vouchers lack sufficient information for payment of a claim, and educates them on proper claim coding.
+ Processes all charge document batches and verifies total charges on batch ledger.
+ Reviews encounter forms to ensure that required data elements are present.
+ Checks patient registrations for financial class, enters appropriate authorizations, and makes sure encounters and co-pays are linked to patient visits.
+ Communicates with management, physicians, and other relevant parties regarding code edits.
+ Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
+ High School diploma or equivalent
+ Minimum 3 years of relevant experience
+ Knowledge of generally accepted accounting procedures and principles.
+ Skill in completing assignments accurately and with attention to detail.
+ Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
+ Ability to work independently and/or in a collaborative environment.
+ Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form
Any relevant education, certifications and/or work experience may be considered.
