Sr. Mechnical Process Engineer, Product Engineering

The Senior Textile Mechanical Process Engineer works closely with teams located in both the US and China throughout the design cycle. As a member of the MPE team, you will be responsible for developing textile material through working with Advanced Materials Team, Industrial Design, Product Design, and Commodity Management team, Supplier Management team, you will be also responsible to provide technical solution to the textile application or sub-assembly process development at our suppliers.

In addition, you will work closely with the Mechanical Process Program Management (MPPM) team on giving timely feedback of technical risk, and continuous communication of the status of engineering issues throughout the textile product development cycle to a cross functional audience. You will be the primary contact window for textile technical issue resolution across the textile supply base.

The Role:
· New textile material development, including knitting/weaving structures, coloration, finishing, coating, laminating and setting processes to meet engineering specifications, and achieve reliability requirements
· Develop and document the textile manufacturing process setup, in-process quality control, cosmetic requirements, and other metrology requirements
· Review product requirements with industry design, marketing and product design engineers and recommend optimal materials specifications to meet product design requirements and quality goals
· Maintain relationships with textile suppliers, drive innovations on materials, manufacturing processes and identify opportunities to improve quality and competitive cost
· Sharing the best practice and grow team knowledge on textile manufacturing process, textile application, and wrapping-subassembly
· Identify technical risks and define mitigation plan
· International and domestic travel as required to achieve product and technology development, including visits to supplier sites and US headquarters
