Job Title: Sr. Mechanical Engineer (Materials & Corrosion)

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Metallurgical Engineering.Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent preferred.

Experience

Minimum 10 years of relevant post-graduate experience, including:

At least 6 years in the oil & gas industry. Strong knowledge of engineering standards and codes related to Materials & Corrosion Engineering.Proven ability to manage time, cost, and quality in engineering projects within a multi-project environment.Excellent communication skills in English (verbal and written), including proficiency in preparing reports and delivering presentations.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities

Perform Materials & Corrosion Engineering activities and conduct in-house site surveys for projects from concept definition through:

Engineering studiesFEEDDetailed designCommissioning

Ensure compliance with comapny technical framework, including:

QHSE requirementsEnvironmental and local regulationsAssurance practicesEngineering standardsPersonal and process safety policies Review technical deviations and variations from approved guidelines, codes, and standards.Support the Engineering Department in reviewing, updating, and applying company standards and amendments to external standards.Plan and coordinate activities of a multidisciplinary engineering team to ensure timely delivery of technical services.Develop and review multi-disciplinary work scopes for projects; ensure clarity and completeness.Review and approve method statements from contractors for scope compliance; liaise with contractors to resolve technical issues.Develop, update, and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities; contribute to FEED/EPIC scheduling for effective project delivery.Evaluate technical bid packages for compliance with scope requirements.Review and assess contract changes/variations against approved guidelines and practices.Support technical competency development for self and team members; participate in structured training for Associate and Qatari Engineers.
