Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Building Services Engineering or Building Environmental Engineering. Chartered / Professional Engineer status or equivalent is preferable. Experience: Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in Mechanical Building Services Engineering (e.g., HVAC, plumbing, drainage, irrigation, building compressed air, building medical gas), utility network layouts, onshore/offshore Oil & Gas installations, with Consultant/Contractor and/or client lead background. Proficiency in use of design software such as Carrier E20, Hevacomp, and knowledge of drafting software such as AutoCAD. Experience in construction, commissioning and start-up activities. Experienced working within multi-discipline/cultural environment. Experienced in resolving technical challenges related to Mechanical Building Services and adjacent discipline issues. Ability to prioritise and conclude multiple tasks in a timely manner to meet scheduled deadlines alongside unscheduled urgent activities. Ability to coordinate with and promote teamwork amongst stakeholders, co-workers and external organisations. Fluency in English with good verbal and writing communication skills and proficiency for conducting presentations. Primary Duties and Responsibilities: Provide technical design and engineering services in Mechanical Building Services Engineering for all assigned engineering projects. Achieve the technical quality of work in accordance with company procedures, whilst considering quality, schedule, cost and HSE. Ensure technical assurance practices, engineering standards, environmental and safety policies are incorporated and followed in work-scopes and during engineering activities. Review technical deviations and variations to approved guidelines, codes, standards and practices. Ensure Mechanical Building Services design/engineering deliverables comply with company requirements. Assess and approve/recommend suitability of engineering submissions by consultants/contractors. Act as single point technical responsibility and accountability for assigned projects within Mechanical Building Services engineering authority. Support Engineering Department to review, update and apply company standards and amendments to external standards. Plan and coordinate activities of a team of multidiscipline engineers to ensure timely delivery of technical services to meet project requirements. Coordinate engineering designs and develop/review multi-disciplinary work-scopes to ensure clarity and comprehensiveness. Review and approve method statements developed by contracted organisations for scope compliance. Liaise with them to resolve technical issues. Develop, update and monitor schedules for in-house engineering activities and contribute to external FEED/EPIC scheduling and project delivery. Conduct evaluation of technical bid packages for scope compliance. Evaluate, assess and recommend new vendors proposed during project phases. Review and evaluate Contract Changes/Variations to approved guidelines and practices. Assess and recommend technical suitability of Tenderers within Mechanical Building Services areas of responsibility. Responsible and accountable for technical integrity and safety of design. Requires minimal guidance and instruction. Work accomplishments not subject to third-party design checks. Support development of personal technical competency and those of co-workers. Participate in structured training for Associate, Qatari Engineers.
