Sr. Manager Inventory Accounting - Process Engineering and Defects

Position Purpose:

This Sr. Manager role is responsible for Inventory Engineering for all S4 and enterprise initiatives and Inventory Defect Management. From an engineering standpoint, this Sr. Manager defines all accounting requirements for S4 initiatives, (DC MAC and Store Onboarding) and enterprise change efforts, establishes accounting flows and net new accounting processes, informs test cases, ensures preparedness for initiative go live, monitors output during pilot and hypercare and iterates with product and IT teams to address any identified issues creating noise in our financials. The Sr. Manager is also responsible for leading all inventory and shrink/swell defect research, correction, communication to SSC and field leadership, and coordination for ultimate IT resolution.

The Sr. Manager is responsible for leading teams, ensuring excellent customer service, and seeking to continuously improve processes and delivery. The individual in the role will partner heavily with cross-functional product, project, IT and business teams to solve complex business challenges, align strategies, and understand nuanced system and data flows. This Sr. Manager will also provide coaching to team members, along with supporting their development of business and technical skills. The individual in this role will have proven experience leading people and guaranteeing daily service delivery to multiple stakeholders across the company. 

These responsibilities require effective communication skills, building relationships and partnerships, and leveraging business proficiency to suggest solutions and provide recommendations. This role is expected to lead collaboration efforts, align strategies, and effectively manage talent.

Key Responsibilities:

20% Collaboration - Prioritizes and assigns projects using factors such as funding, return on investment, innovation or challenging work; Manages programs for the team to ensure consistency of execution, balance of resources and quality solutions; Collaborates with program managers and business partners to align on objectives and expectations and ensure project teams deliver against them10% Continuous Improvements & Controls - Participates in the continuous improvement of FBS processes; Oversees Internal Controls and drives compliance; Works closely with controls and compliance teams30% Operational Duties & Oversight - Monitors team(s) progress against departmental goals; Monitors team(s) daily activities; Leads regular team meetings to address operations topics, improvements and projects that require monitoring and resolution; Serves as the second level escalation for risks and issues; Provides updates and recommendation to leaders at all levels of the organization on short- and long-term objectives and policies, program effectiveness, team accomplishments, summary of findings, and explain internal and external impacts; Oversees the administration of financial policies30% People Management & Team Leadership - Provides leadership, mentorship and coaching to supervisors and managers; ensures teams are supported; Provides guidance on a regular basis, keeps connected with the team; Provides performance reviews and timely feedback to direct reports regarding performance, execution, and contribution; Recruits and hires staff; Manages the different team members with respect for all people, coaching them for bringing up the strengths and skills that will set a successful group of highly motivated and strong performers; Fosters collaboration with team members; develops a supportive and engaged team10% Strategy Mindset - Leads transformational projects defined in conjunction with other areas or teams. Support the planning, execution and allocation of resources needed to run the project; Continuously aims to create shareholder value by proposing and supporting transformational ideas and projects; Drives adoption of leading-edge techniques and methods, both predictive and prescriptive

Travel Requirements:

Typically requires overnight travel less than 10% of the time.


Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.


Working Conditions:

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.


Minimum Qualifications:

Must be eighteen years of age or older.Must be legally permitted to work in the United States.Previous people or project team management experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

Strong accounting background, CPA preferred

Strong analytical, problem solving, process improvement and research skills

Excellent business partnership skills and ability to inspire and drive change

Highly skilled at navigating complex conversations and tailoring messages to audiences at all levels in the organization

Experience in GBQ, SQL, SAP S4 HANA desired


Minimum Education:

The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.
