How you will make an impact:The Senior Manager FP&A leads the financial planning and analysis activities for Environmental and Process Monitoring (EPM), a $0.2B business unit within the Chemicals Analysis Division (CAD). This role will partner with the EPM BU leadership team to develop and implement strategies to drive profitable growth. The role will require planning, analyzing, forecasting, budgeting, and business intelligence activities in support of the business unit’s goals and objectives.
What you will do:Support the BU leadership team to set and deliver quarterly, annual, and long-range business goalsLead core operating mechanisms, including QBR/MBRs, AOP, STRAP and forecasts in collaboration with BU leadership team and Division counterpartsBuild calendars with key delivery due dates and reviews meetings to drive adherence to timelines. Lead the submission of forecasts and AOP in Thermo Fisher financial planning systems.Identify and complete prioritization / trade-offs for business risks and mitigating opportunities to deliver EPM’s growth, earnings, CapEx, and working capital targetsSet example for continuous operational improvement and drive efficiency across the business and functionsIdentify improvement opportunities to automate, enhance, and build analysisAccelerate decision making through development and utilizing of visualization toolsThought partner to leadership and act as change agent to drive profitable growthManage and coach 1 direct reportSafeguard company assets and champion / promote effective and efficient internal control environment while ensuring compliance with local GAAP, US GAAP, regulatory requirements, and corporate policiesPerform special projects and ad-hoc financial reporting as requiredHow you will get here:EducationAn undergraduate degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is requiredExperienceMinimum of 7+ years of progressively responsible finance and business experience, including leading and building impactful teamsDemonstrated ability to effectively collaborate in a matrix working environmentProven ability to balance multiple assignments, exercise good judgment, and prioritize time effectively while achieving resultsKnowledge, Skills, AbilitiesFinancially savvy, deep familiarity with concepts of forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, as well as root cause data interpretationExcellent skills with MS Excel and forecast / ERP systems (CMR, HFM)Building financial models, and calculating return on investment to support strategic investment opportunitiesAbility to handle large sets of data and creating accurate reports with responsibility for the quality and integrity of deliverablesCapable of understanding and proactively sharing the financial implications of business decisions and dynamicsEffective spoken and written communication skills to collaborate with finance and non-finance partnersCompensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $130,000.00–$194,950.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
