Job Description
This manager leads the prioritization of Systems Engineering actions to ensure operational excellence across the 747, 767, 737, and 777 fleets. They oversee a team of engineers, providing strategic direction and technical support, while also managing the Liaison Engineering Support Team to reinforce 24/7 AOG coverage. On a daily basis, the manager reviews documentation from Heavy Maintenance and Conversion MROs, issues instructions to support safe and timely aircraft returns to service, and coordinates with Fleet Type SMEs and the Manager of Systems Engineering. They are responsible for guiding the Project Systems Team, ensuring regulatory compliance with FARs, ADs, and NPRMs, and managing responses to fleet-wide initiatives such as the Fleet team Idea Exchange (FIX). The manager chairs working groups, facilitates cross-functional collaboration, and develops or secures approved data and Alternate Methods of Compliance (AMOCs) for repairs and modifications. Their day also includes updating technical source documents, supporting aircraft induction by analyzing major repairs and STCs, and liaising with manufacturers, MROs, regulatory bodies, and external engineering teams. Participation in industry meetings, steering committees, and working groups is routine, as is reviewing the work of consultants, contractors, and MRO Powerplant Engineers. The manager evaluates service bulletins, directives, and reliability indicators to identify opportunities for product improvement and ensure continued fleet performance and safety.

Skills and Requirements
8+ years of experience as an Aircraft Systems Engineer with strong managerial experience
Will be overseeing a team of 8Must come from an aviation background (Airline, MRO, OEM)
Airline strongly preferred
Strong understanding of Aircraft Systems
Landing Gear, Flight Control Systems, Cabin Control, Fuel Systems, etc.
Experience reviewing, advising, and updating records including engineering orders and STCs (supplemental type certificate) A&P Certification
Airline Experience
Master’s Degree
