As the Senior Manager for Deals & Promotions Automation, you will lead a multi-disciplinary organization of Software Development Managers (SDMs), Software Development Engineers (SDEs). Your charter is end-to-end: you will own the core customer experience (CX) for Amazon Deals, the instrumentation that measures its effectiveness, and the underlying agentic platform that automates the creation and management of the promotions CX. You will lead the teams that build both the customer-facing features and the backend orchestration services that use AI agents to autonomously plan and execute promotional events. Working closely with product and business leaders across Amazon, you will define a bold 3-year vision for the future of Amazon's promotional experiences. We are looking for a deeply technical, customer-obsessed leader with a passion for building intelligent systems that directly delight customers and drive massive business growth.
Key job responsibilities
- Hire, develop, and inspire a world-class, multi-disciplinary team of managers, engineers, and scientists responsible for both CX and backend automation.
- Own and innovate on the core customer experience (CX) for Amazon Deals and Promotions, using deep instrumentation and data to drive decisions and improve customer engagement.
- Define and drive a multi-year technical strategy to evolve our promotional capabilities from manual configuration to full, agentic autonomy.
- Function as a 'leader of leaders,' mentoring and growing other managers and senior technical leaders within the organization.
- Champion the application of AI technologies, including Large Language Models (LLMs) and Reinforcement Learning, to solve complex challenges in offer curation, pricing, and presentation.
- Partner with senior business stakeholders to translate business goals into a cohesive roadmap that encompasses both customer-facing features and backend automation.
