Sr. Manager, Reliability Maintenance Engineering
This position is a key leadership role within the Mexican Engineering team with responsibility for the Mexico Amazon Customer Fulfillment (CF) & Transportation Services (ATS) region. The successful candidate will be an experienced Engineering Manager with proven Project Management skills, demonstrated leadership of remote teams across multiple locations, and a track record of navigating complex situations and dealing effectively with ambiguity. This role is responsible for providing a safe working environment for Amazon associates and all aspects of engineering infrastructure, statutory compliance, preventative and reactive maintenance at specific nodes of our CF and ATS.
The person will be a role model in setting a high bar for performance within their team, supported by clear goals for each team member. A strong and engaging people manager with exceptional communication skills; this person must be capable of leading and inspiring remote teams, ensuring alignment and engagement despite geographical distances. They will understand that success is delivered when the Team is fully engaged on common goals and that success is measured by internal and external customer satisfaction. The ideal candidate will be an outstanding communicator who can effectively influence stakeholders at all levels, articulate complex technical concepts clearly, and build strong relationships across distributed teams. This position requires an Engineering professional who is a dynamic, high-energy, results-oriented individual with both the stamina and mental agility to be able to work and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth, innovative, customer-centric environment.

Key Accountabilities

Strategic

- Contribute to the development and implementation of Amazon's growth in the region/pillar.
- Responsible for the formulation, adherence and tracking of RME capital and operational expenditure (CAPEX and OPEX) across the region. Deliver the required availability of all infrastructures in their region to meet customer demand whilst remaining within operational budget.
- Engage and work closely with the regions strategic leaders in Operations, Transportation, Finance and Supply Chain to ensure an integrated approach is adopted that underpins growth and which delivers customer service excellence.
- Drive a culture of innovation in the team which will lead to improvements in safety, customer experience and system performance.

Technical

- Responsible for the overall building and facility maintenance (Reliability, Performance, Cost, etc.).
- Responsible for all preventative and reactive maintenance for installed equipment in the region, ensuring maximum equipment availability (Conveyors, Sorters, Labeling Machines, Packing Machine, HVAC, Fire detection, etc.).
- Drive and improve equipment and process standardization across the region and the wider network.
- Provide feedback and condition analysis on equipment, performance and availability.
- Manage day to day issues on equipment with the regional Engineering teams, defining priorities with the Operations teams and working with the local teams to resolve TTs promptly and with detailed root cause and remedy.
- Support the Ops Engineering teams with installation of new Equipment.
- Effective in influencing, negotiating and communicating with internal and external business partners, contractors and vendors.
- Provide technical guidance to field personnel.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing System.
- An ability to create clear, concise narratives with supporting financial justification for capital investment and then delivery of complex technical solutions.
