Description Employer: Amazon.com Services LLC Position: Sr. Manager, Operations (multiple positions available) Location: Union City, GA Multiple Positions Available: 1. Responsible for budgetary, people development, and operations objectives for a fulfillment center. 2. Manage and lead a team of area managers, coach and mentor the team to ensure performance objectives are met, and build positive employee relations and leadership bench strength within the fulfillment center. 3. Use lean and six sigma process improvement methodologies and performance metrics to increase efficiency within processes. 4. Drive creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives, and other lean initiatives to enable functional area and the fulfillment center to meet and exceed business plan. 5. Responsible for the overall safety, quality, performance and customer experience of either inbound or outbound operations. Participate in the full staffing lifecycle, including interviewing, hiring, performance management, promotions and terminations. 6. Set and clarify requirements and expectations for area managers. 7. Measure performance, provide feedback, and hold area managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments. 8. Leverage area managers by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area. 9. Ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts, and among the network. 10. Domestic travel up to 15% to perform role responsibilities may be required. In the alternative, a Bachelor's Degree or foreign equivalent in Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, Operations Engineering, Supply Chain or related discipline followed by 5 progressively responsible years of experience in management consulting, technical management, or logistics engineering. Experience must include: 1) 2 years of management experience (salaried workforce or program management) in a Global Supply Chain, Manufacturing, Production/Procurement, and Distribution, Logistics or related environment/operations. 2) 2 years of experience using Lean Process Improvement, Six Sigma methodologies or related performance metrics/process improvements to increase efficiency within processes, forecasting, planning, optimization, and logistics. 3) 1 year of cross-functional coordination experience across different business units and experience conducting qualitative/quantitative data analysis to support business decision making and cross functional initiatives.
