Role Summary As a Senior Manager-New Model Study, you will oversee a team of specialists that develop new model proposals for future manufacturing programs. You and your team will develop plans that include plant layouts, timing charts, should costs, launch curves, manufacturing feasibility, new technologies, budgets, manpower and business cases for next generation new model programs. These proposals will be presented to Company Leadership for approval of future programs. You and your team will also interface and coordinate with product engineering as well as other manufacturing centers and assembly plants. The person in this position will be expected to effectively communicate with and routinely interact with Senior Company Leadership across various organizations. In addition, you and your team will generate RFQ packages for any approved projects and hand them off to execution and launch teams. Responsibilities Utilize direct and matrixed subject matter experts in all factory related matters to develop innovative and efficient facilities and manufacturing processes Engage and support other functional groups to create and review building and line layouts. Provide in-depth analysis of total spend data to identify opportunities for small and large strategic initiatives Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to senior leadership Program manage the rollout of selected technologies and systems to internal and external stakeholders Engage with and support manufacturing leadership in identification of technologies and suppliers for procurement and fabrication for all Rivian manufacturing facilities, present and future Support RFI/RFQ/RFP and strategic sourcing process for all relevant capital equipment across all Rivian facilities (as applicable) Drive success through empowering your team, leading by example and removing roadblocks Communicate clearly to internal and external stakeholders, remaining composed under pressure while adapting to a dynamic work environment Support business planning initiatives and milestone attainment Build and maintain strategic relationships with key stakeholders, acting as the lead to research and solve all cross functional issues Qualifications Bachelors Degree or 10+ years of relevant work experience 10+ years of manufacturing experience required, with knowledge of manufacturing processes, plant operations, budgets, product design, tool design, man assignments, feasibility, and program timing. Highly proficient with Microsoft Office PowerPoint and Excel. (Or their Google equivalents) Self-motivated and able to successfully achieve results under time pressure. Ability to work with all levels while establishing and maintaining lines of communication. Strong teamwork skills required as well as the ability to handle multiple projects. Demonstrated success in performing spend analysis while supporting the entire RFI/RFQ/RFP process Experience in leading and managing large projects that support cross-functional internal organizations Experience in building high performing strategic teams and developing talent into leadership positions Demonstrated ability to identify process issues and drive improvements that improve operational efficiency Knowledge of and direct experience with multiple industrial disciplines (Stamping, Body, Paint, etc) Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills Program management skills in order to track and report on project open issues and status Ability to envision factory layout and its implications for material flow In depth knowledge of automotive design and vehicle systems First Principles thinking and problem-solving skill sets High level of integrity Pay Disclosure Salary range rate for Illinois/Michigan/Georgia based applicants: $161,000-$201,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law). Salary range rate for SoCal based applicants: $176,000 - $220,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
