Sr. Manager, Communications

We’re currently seeking a Sr. Manager, Communications to join our Headquarters team!

 

We are seeking a strategic, collaborative, and hands-on Senior Manager of Communications to lead internal and external communications for our fast-paced, multi-unit retail organization. This role leads the Communications team that is building and delivering messaging that connects and aligns thousands of employees across stores and headquarters teams while also communicating our brand to the media and other external stakeholders. This position requires a skilled storyteller and cross-functional collaborator who can translate business objectives into clear, consistent messaging across all audiences.

 

What You Will Do:

 

Internal Communications: Store + Headquarters Teams:

Develop and execute internal communication strategies that keep store and headquarters employees informed, engaged, and aligned with business goals. Providing guidance, mentorship, and performance management to a team of communications professionals. Lead the development of store-level communications including regular updates, operational announcements, policy rollouts, and leadership messages. Support executive leadership in creating impactful messaging for internal and audiences across multiple channels, including quarterly Town Halls, quarterly field leadership calls, etc. Partner closely with Headquarters departments and Operations team to ensure timely and effective messaging to frontline team members.

External Communications & Public Relations:

Support brand reputation and visibility through strategic external communications, including media relations, press releases, customer messaging, and community engagement. Coordinate messaging during crises, ensuring timely, accurate, and consistent messaging to internal and external stakeholders. Collaborate with external PR agencies and internal partners to manage proactive media outreach and responses to press inquiries. Partner with Marketing to craft messaging for public statements, product launches, and brand campaigns.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

Act as a liaison with Operations and Headquarters teams to ensure message accuracy and alignment. Lead communication planning for projects, initiatives, and field engagement programs. Ensure clear, consistent voice and tone across all communication channels.

How You Will Shine:

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations, or a related field. 7+ years of progressive experience in corporate and/or internal communications, with strong experience supporting distributed (multi-location or field-based) teams. Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with an ability to tailor messaging for both hourly frontline employees and corporate stakeholders. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, retail driven environment. Experience working closely with Senior leaders on high-visibility initiatives. Comfortable navigating change and leading crisis communications when needed. Excellent verbal & written communication, with the ability to clearly present ideas. Ability to build a strong team and provide transparent feedback. Ability to collaborate effectively across departments to drive consistent and effective communication. Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills in dynamic, fast-paced environments. Ability to travel up to 4-5 times per year.
