Position Purpose:
We are seeking a highly innovative and experienced Senior Manager of Automation Design to join our Supply Chain Innovation & Automation team. This critical role will be the resident expert in conveyor design and technology, driving the research, development, and implementation of cutting-edge material handling solutions for our next generation of supply chain facilities. The ideal candidate will blend deep technical knowledge with exceptional analytical and visualization skills to shape the physical architecture and automation strategy of our future operations.
The Senior Manager of Automation Design will serve as the subject matter expert for all conveyor systems and material handling technologies, leading the end-to-end design, layout, and optimization of complex systems across new and existing facilities. This role will develop and maintain design standards, evaluate and procure equipment in partnership with vendors and stakeholders, and leverage data analysis and simulation tools to optimize performance and mitigate risks. Additionally, the leader will create 3D models, visualizations, and strategic roadmaps for automation deployment, collaborating with Real Estate and Operations teams to define future-state facility designs while staying ahead of global trends in robotics, AMR/AGV, and supply chain automation.

Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical), Supply Chain Management, or a related technical field.
7+ years of progressive experience in automation engineering, system design, or material handling, with at least 3 years in a management or lead design role.
Deep, demonstrable expertise in conveyor systems: design principles, throughput calculations, controls logic, and common industry suppliers.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit) for complex facility and system layout.
Proven experience with data analysis, simulation, and modeling tools to validate complex system performance.
Master's degree in a relevant field.
Experience with other automation technologies such as ASRS, AGVs/AMRs, and robotic picking integrated with conveyor systems.
Experience in building and mentoring a high-performing design or engineering team (even if this role starts as an individual contributor)
