Job responsibilities

Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendorsDevelops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by othersDrives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processesServes as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focusActively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software  Development Life CycleInfluences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologiesAdds to the team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

 Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experienceHands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stabilityAbility to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversightHands-on experience with designing and implementing large scale distributed systems using Core Java, Spring BootHands-on experience with deploying, operating, and monitoring applications with containerization technology like Kubernetes (GKP)Experience with automating CI/CD pipelines from commit to deployments in cloud infrastructureExperience with any modern observability/monitoring systems such Splunk/Dynatrace etc

 

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

Derivatives/ Equities/ FX settlements systems background is a plusProficient in scripting and automation using Python, Bash, Groovy, and various other scripting languages is a plusExperience with Angular, React, and various other JavaScript front-end frameworks is a plusIn-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems
