Role Summary As a Sr. Staff Program Manager (Product Roadmap) within the Vehicle Planning and Programs team at Rivian, you will play a critical role in defining and maintaining the long-term product roadmap for Rivian, focusing on vehicle variants, timelines, investments, resources, and vehicle volumes for the next 5-7 years. You will be instrumental in ensuring a cohesive and strategic product vision across the organization. Responsibilities Maintain comprehensive product roadmap information, including details on vehicle variants, development timelines, required investments, resource allocation, and vehicle volumes for Rivian's products over a 5-7 year horizon. Conduct in-depth studies and analyses to understand the implications of proposed timeline changes across all business functions (e.g., engineering, operations, finance, supply chain, manufacturing). This includes analyzing plant capacity against product demand per market to ensure a cohesive production plan. Develop and present quarterly business updates to the executive team, clearly communicating the status of the product roadmap, potential risks, and strategic recommendations. Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, engineering, and operations teams to establish and maintain a single source of truth for all product roadmap data and assumptions. Partner with technical, engineering, and operations teams (internal and external) to align product roadmap with technological advancements and capabilities. Support strategic problem-solving related to product sequencing, market opportunities, and resource optimization to enable transformative progress in vehicle capabilities and business growth. Champion a culture of operational excellence, data integrity, financial rigor, and cross-team collaboration that differentiates Rivian’s product development and delivery. Act as a partner across technical program managers, finance/business operations leaders, and senior executives—ensuring ongoing alignment on product priorities and resource allocation. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, or a relevant technical field (Master’s or MBA strongly preferred). 7+ years of progressive experience in program management, with substantial experience in product roadmap development, strategic planning, business operations, and financial planning—ideally gained within automotive, electric vehicles, or advanced product development sectors. Demonstrated success leading large-scale and complex strategic planning initiatives and operational and financial planning throughout the full product lifecycle. Prior experience in technical roles (R&D, Product Delivery) with a solid foundation in engineering theory, technical program management, and business operations. Advanced analytical and financial skills, including experience with program budgeting, resource management, business case analysis, and cost/benefit modeling for major product initiatives. Track record of delivering measurable results in cross-functional environments, driving projects that balance technical ambition, business operations excellence, and financial sustainability. Excellent interpersonal, communication, and executive presentation skills; able to convey complex product, technical, and financial information to diverse audiences, including C-suite stakeholders. Familiarity with advanced program management, business operations, and financial planning tools (MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint, Lucid, Tableau, ERP systems, etc.). Collaborative, data-driven, and passionate about product strategy and commercial impact. Comfortable in a dynamic, rapidly evolving environment with high expectations for strategic and financial outcomes. Pay Disclosure Salary range for California Based Applicants: $196,000-$245,000 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
