Location Information:
This is a customer site-based role that supports our Lab Automation group with headquarters in Burlington, Ontario. Our team develops, manufactures, and installs robotic solutions globally, accelerating drug discovery, synthetic biology research, and clinical testing for major pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers.

This role will support the implementation and client support of custom automated laboratory systems. As a key on-site representative of Thermo Fisher Scientific, your knowledge of our products will optimize their scientific results and help them maintain uninterrupted operations. Your insight will also support our products and services through finding opportunities for enriching our customers’ experience.
What you will contribute:
Team Collaboration
Act as the primary onsite point of contact for clients during installation, training, and ongoing support.Lead discussions and provide customers with solutions & recommendations to achieve their goalsWork closely with the client’s automation group and scientists on feedback and lessons learned, sharing them with internal teams to drive and implement continuous improvements.Collaborate with engineering and applications teams to implement technical improvements and address hardware and software automation issues.Key Responsibilities
Translate customer’s scientific requirements to develop & implement automated workflows using our Momentum™ scheduling softwareServe as the technical lead in defining data-handling requirements and configuring systems to interact with the customer’s Lab Information Management System (LIMS) as needed.Maintaining uptime and providing technical assistance to ensure continuous operation of Thermo Fisher manufactured products including the tracking of quality and response-time metricsSupport customer support issues internally for various automation platformsCoordinating and performing software upgrades and system re-qualification processesLead discussions with 3rd party instrument vendors in relation to integration and/or software issuesHow will you get there?
Education:
Bachelor’s degree, preferably in science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer), Engineering, or related fieldExperience:
8 years minimum relevant industry experience5 years in a role directly collaborating with customersExperience in Pharma or Biotech industries working with laboratory instrumentation preferredKnowledge & Skills:
Software problem-solving techniques and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devicesAnalytical skills to identify complexities and address appropriate solutionsProficiency with programming languages (C++, Python, or other)Familiarity with IQ/OQ validation or GxP requirements is considered an assetValid PassportAbility to travel up to 20% of the time internationally without restrictions
