Sr. Java Developer

Position Location:  Provide locations/flexible work by preference: 1. Pittsburgh PA -OR Cleveland OH - Strongsville 

These candidates will round out Fraud Comms Crew 1 and be our JAVA developers. These are key resources necessary for the OCH Project. Starting with Day 1, they will need to get up to speed on our Agile ceremonies and work with the Product Owner and BSA to start getting an understanding of the project requirements. Moving forward under the leadership of the Scrum Master, this candidate will collaborate with the other Software Engineers to iteratively implement the requirements of this project.

Hiring manager is in need of two Java developers.

Level 2: 2-4 YRS

Must Have Technical Skills:
Java Spring Boot framework, SQL, OCP, Jenkins, Angular
Experience using agile based methodology
User story interpretation and implementation
Ability to facilitate testing methodologies
Release and production implementation experience
Application run and support

Flex Skills/Nice to Have:
Kafka

Soft Skills:
Verbal and written communication

Education/Certifications:
Experience in lieu of education
No certs

Screening Questions:
What are the advantages of using Spring Boot?
Define the Key Components of Spring Boot.
Explain the MVC (model, view, controller) architecture and what makes up the different components, how they relate.

2nd Round - 2-3 person panel with engineers - 45-1HR (java development questions, technical interview)


Summary:
Responsible for writing programs to maintain and control computer systems software for operating systems, networked systems, and database systems. Responsible for creating the software platform, and then fine-tuning the final program after it has been made.

Job Responsibilities:
• Modify existing software to correct errors, to adapt it to new hardware or to upgrade interfaces and improve performance.
• Design and develop software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
• Consult with engineering staff to evaluate interface between hardware and software, develop specifications and performance requirements and resolve customer problems.
• Advise customer about, or perform, maintenance of software system.

Skills:
• Verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, customer service and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage one’s time.
• Knowledge of the full software development lifecycle: from business/systems analysis, through requirements gathering and functional specification authoring, to development, testing and delivery.
• Ability to troubleshoot issues and make system changes as needed to resolve issue.
• Knowledge of computer development software, such as SQL, Java, J2EE, etc.

Education/Experience: High School Degree and Bachelors degree in computer science/relevant field or equivalent work experience required. 4 to 5 years experience required.
