Job Description

The Senior Internal Advisor works in conjunction with LE President & Business Unit Managers to ensure top tier technical and scientific services are being offered. Utilize technical expertise to develop new metrics for the laboratories. This position is an internal support role only to help leaders drive operational efficiency. 

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities Include:

Demonstrates and promotes the company visionRegular attendance and punctualityConducts all activities in a safe and efficient mannerCreate training contentTrain internal operational staff and leadersCreate and draft laboratory standard operating proceduresAudit laboratory procedures and operationsDevelop key metrics for the laboratories to measure productivity and efficiencies and implement processes to monitor across the network.Develop new microbiological methods to serve key industriesAssist laboratory operations on implementation of new microbiological methodsGain proficiency in laboratory information management systemsWork closely with research and development teamsEvaluate laboratory operations to identify potential safety risksIncorporate LEAN practice flow into microbiology laboratoriesAssist laboratories with operational support and continuous improvementTechnical expert on enumeration and core pathogen detection/strain differentiation platforms such as PCR, ELISA as well as confirmation processesAssist in training initiatives at both corporate and lab specific levelAdvise and assist US Food labs on technical issues related to projects.Identify unique capabilities within Food Business Unit operations and facilitate the distribution of those capabilities throughout companyWork with lab operations to improve the technical and scientific aspects of the business units, to facilitate the resolution of technical issues.Work closely with corporate quality on training initiatives, CAPA/RCA training and assistance for the laboratoriesAct as a liaison to strengthen ties between Eurofins US operations and worldwide operationsWork with quality to develop training metrics and materials for new and existing employees and annual reverification trainingGain proficiency in laboratory accreditation servicesResponsible for the professional development and mentoring of Business Unit ManagersProvide the necessary planning, organization, and control to meet the goals of the companyEnable Business Unit Managers to control costs of their laboratories within the established company guidelines along with analyzing monthly laboratory KPIsAssist laboratories with operational support and continuous improvementAssessment technical expert researching and vetting new products and services from microbiology vendors.

Qualifications

 

BS in Science, Microbiology or related field MS or PhD in Science, Microbiology or related field is preferred.  8-10 years of applicable and progressively expanded laboratory experience.Must be able to organize and lead professional personnel in a manner that reflects corporate goals and objectivesMust be able to schedule workflow to optimize laboratory productivity and client satisfaction in a cost-effective mannerPrior experience in lab procedures, data analysis, computer operations, mathematics and technical/busines writing requiredFluency in verbal and written communication in English requiredExcellent interpersonal and organizational skillsExcellent communication skillsResponsive problem solver and action requiredAbility to think critically and solve problems.Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and internationally
