Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced and accomplished part-time Senior IFF Program Specialist to provide technical expertise and leadership in the development, integration, and support of advanced Combat Identification (CID) and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) systems. The successful candidate will leverage their extensive military operational experience, deep technical knowledge, and strong interpersonal skills to ensure the interoperability and effectiveness of critical defense systems. They will work closely with internal teams, external partners, and NATO allies to develop and implement solutions that enhance situational awareness, prevent fratricide, and improve overall operational effectiveness. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of military operations, a proven track record of supporting MAJCOM-level activities, and extensive experience working with OSD, Joint Staff, and ACC. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong technical background and the ability to translate operational needs into actionable requirements for advanced IFF systems.
Key Responsibilities:
+ Serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on Combat Identification (CID) and Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) technologies, tactics, and procedures.
+ Provide expert consultation and support to MAJCOMs in the development and implementation of CID/IFF strategies and initiatives.
+ Liaise with OSD, Joint Staff, and ACC to ensure alignment of CID/IFF efforts with national security objectives and Air Force priorities.
+ Develop and refine advanced IFF requirements based on evolving threats and operational needs.
+ Analyze current and emerging CID/IFF technologies to identify potential solutions and improvements.
+ Support the development and execution of test and evaluation plans for CID/IFF systems.
+ Prepare and present briefings and reports to senior leadership on CID/IFF-related topics.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of CID/IFF capabilities.
Required Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline (ex. Engineering, Business Management).
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of military operational experience in Combat Identification.
+ Minimum of 7-10 years of experience supporting MAJCOM-level activities.
+ Experience supporting connections and collaboration with OSD, Joint Staff, and ACC.
+ Extensive experience and a thorough understanding of developing Advanced IFF requirements.
+ Experience with the development and implementation of CID/IFF policies and procedures.
+ familiarity with relevant military standards and regulations.
+ Experience with modeling and simulation of CID/IFF systems.
Desired Qualifications:
+ Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related discipline (ex. Engineering, Business Management).
+ Minimum of 20 years of military operational experience in Combat Identification.
+ Minimum of 20 years of experience supporting MAJCOM-level activities.
+ Previous Command Pilot experience across different tactical combat mission aircraft.
