Sr. Fund Accountant
Description Overview: A leading venture capital firm with a decades-long track record of backing transformative companies is seeking a Senior Valuations & Fund Accountant to join its high-performing finance team. Key Responsibilities: Valuations (ASC 820): + Prepare and document quarterly valuations of portfolio companies using accepted venture capital methodologies + Analyze and communicate key assumptions and inputs in valuation models + Present valuation findings to auditors, internal committees, and firm leadership Fund Operations: + Support quarterly close processes, including financial statements and partner reporting + Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual audited financials + Review capital call and distribution calculations + Manage cash flow planning and capital call schedules + Provide documentation and responses to external auditors + Address Limited Partner (LP) inquiries with professionalism and accuracy + Mentor and support associate fund accountants + Contribute to ad hoc projects and process improvements Benefits: + Up to 20% annual bonus + Phantom carry plan + 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and dependents + 401(k) with matching + Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) for medical expenses + 16 weeks of paid parental leave + Unlimited PTO Excited about this opportunity? Requirements Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or related field + CPA preferred but not required + 3+ years of experience in public accounting (VC/PE clients) or in-house at a venture capital or private equity firm + Strong knowledge of ASC 946 and ASC 820 + Hands-on experience with fund accounting, audits, and financial reporting + Advanced Excel skills; familiarity with systems like Investran, Intacct, or QuickBooks is a plus + Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities Excited about this role?
