Title: Sr. Field Service Technician – Hawaii

Position Summary:

Perform preventative maintenance, start-ups, and repairs on generators; including automatic transfer switches, diesel, and gaseous engines. Promote safe and efficient operation of duties. Travel required.

Key Accountabilities: 

Service, troubleshoot, repair and overhaul Kinetic Power Pack (KPP) systems and their associated electronic and mechanical systemsLead on-site work, maintain active list of project timelines and prioritize job tasksOperate KPP systems, including 480v to 13,800v electric plantsProvide on call 24/7 site support for assistance with alarms and failuresAssist with commissioning of KPP systemsInspect parts to assure conformance to specificationPerform field inspections according to maintenance schedulesMaintain site CMMS data with provided tabletOrder replacement parts and maintain site spare part inventorySource local vendors required for third party activities/assistanceProvide operating assistance to the customerProvide technical assistance to other service personnelTravel and assist other site technicians when assistance is requiredRemain technically currentMaintain a clean and safe work areaAnalyze technical dataPromotes a compliance culture in area of responsibility, and live the letter and the spirit of the Rolls-Royce Code of ConductPerforms special projects as required

Basic Requirements: 

Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S without sponsorship. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this timeTwo years mechanical or technical trade school and 5 years field service with mechanical or electrical troubleshooting experience; or 7 years field service experience.Ability to travel 5-10% on short notice international and domesticAbility to lift, push, pull weights in the 20-60 lb. rangeAbility to bend down, stand over, lay down and complete work tasks

Preferred Qualifications:

Excellent knowledge of electronics and ability to read blueprints and electronic schematicsExcellent knowledge in the use of mechanical and electric hand toolsExcellent knowledge in the use of measurement and testing tools for mechanical and electrical systemsStrong knowledge in technical language and engineering terminologyStrong knowledge in the principles of electronics, physics, hydraulics and pneumaticsStrong knowledge in the physical properties of fuels, coolants, lubricants and oilsStrong verbal and written English communication skillsGood organizational skillsGood experience with PC and MS Office SuiteExperience with large scale UPS/KPP systemsExperience with electric plant operations and troubleshootingExperience with the replacement of bearings and vibration analysisExperience in rigging of weights up to 2 tonExperience in report and service letter writing
