How you will make an impact:

As a Sr. Field Application Specialist, you have a meaningful role in carrying out custom automated laboratory projects. This involves applying Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Momentum™ Automation Workflow software. Your work will include testing and troubleshooting automated robotic systems coordinated with specialized instruments according to set specifications.

What you will contribute:

Team Collaboration

Collaborate with multi-functional project teams that include the end customer, Application Scientists, Project Managers, Integrators, Designers, and Software Developers to plan and develop ETO solutionsImprove the customer’s workflows while providing dependable resultsLead discussions as the domain guide and provide customers with system introduction-level trainingKey ResponsibilitiesTranslate customer scientific requirements to develop, implement, and validate sophisticated large-scale automated workflows using our scheduling software coordinated with a wide array of diagnostic laboratory instruments.Function as the technical lead in specifying data-handling needs and arranging systems to work compatibly with the customer’s Lab Information Management System (LIMS) when necessary.Instruct and improve robot/mover motion and workflows for efficiency and reliabilityConduct robust testing strategies to ensure customer success and achieve site acceptance test (SAT) approval

Education:Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in science (Biology, Chemistry, Computer), Engineering, or related fieldExperience:8 years minimum experience in science, software or lab automation5 years in a role directly collaborating with customers in a professional environmentExperience in Pharma or Biotech industries working with laboratory instrumentation considered an assetKnowledge, Skills, Abilities:High proficiency in software problem-solving techniques and ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical devicesProficiency with programming languages (C++, Python, or other)Familiarity with IQ/OQ validation or GxP requirements is preferredValid PassportAbility to travel 75% of the time internationally without restrictions

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Pennsylvania is $104,000.00–$138,000.00.
