Sr. Export Compliance Manager
Job Title: Senior Export Compliance Manager Job Description The Senior Export Compliance Manager is tasked with leading, governing, and continuously improving the global export compliance program. This role is essential for protecting the company from regulatory, financial, and reputational risks. The position requires authoritative oversight of export controls, licensing, and risk decisions, serving as the Senior subject-matter expert for EAR and ITAR sanctions. As a hands-on leader, the Senior Manager makes timely executive decisions to safeguard the business while collaborating effectively with executive leadership and cross-functional teams to enable successful compliant growth. Responsibilities + Own and lead the export compliance program, ensuring full compliance with EAR, ITAR, OFAC, and other applicable U.S. and international regulations across all global operations. + Establish, maintain, and enforce export compliance policies, procedures, and controls aligned with regulatory requirements and industry best practices. + Direct and manage export license strategies, applications, provisos, and ongoing obligations, including complex or high-risk transactions and government engagements. + Actively review and assess high-risk transactions, end-use/end-user concerns, diversion risks, and red flags, leading mitigation actions and corrective measures. + Develop and deliver targeted training programs that build export compliance awareness, accountability, and ownership across all levels of the organization. + Lead internal audits, investigations, voluntary disclosures, and responses to regulatory inquiries; ensure root cause analysis and sustainable corrective actions. + Partner closely with Sales, Purchasing, Quality, IT, Operations, and Logistics to embed compliance into daily workflows and ERP systems. + Monitor regulatory changes, enforcement trends, and geopolitical risks; proactively advise executive leadership on impacts to strategy and operations. + Make independent, risk-based compliance decisions to protect the company, including order holds, denials, disclosures, and licensing actions, without undue influence. Essential Skills + 5–10 years of progressive export compliance experience. + ECoP certification is required. + Strong understanding of aerospace, MRO, OEM, or distribution industries is preferred. + Proficiency with trade compliance software. + Ability to interpret and classify technical aerospace data. + U.S. citizenship or permanent residency (as required by export regulations). Additional Skills & Qualifications + Bachelor’s degree preferred. + Experience with aviation and familiarity with Decartes software is a plus. + A former BIS, DDTC, CBP, or OFAC professional with a balanced understanding of regulation and revenue considerations. Work Environment The role is on-site from Monday to Friday, 9 am to 6 pm. The position requires frequent collaboration with Sales, Operations, Purchasing, and Logistics teams. Occasional availability for audits, regulatory interactions, or cross-functional meetings is expected. The environment is fast-paced with global coordination across service centers in London and Singapore. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Doral, FL. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $62.50 - $67.30/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
