Job Description

AECOM is seeking a seasoned Senior Environmental Siting and Permitting Program Manager Environmental Planning & Permitting (EPP) Practice in the Northeast US in our Environment Business Line.  This is a Remote/Hybrid Position with a primary location in New York State or New England.

This is a career opportunity leadership role focusing on business development, project leadership and execution, and project and team management focused on environmental siting and permitting programs for energy sector and linear development/infrastructure projects.  A primary focus will be siting and permitting programs for electrical energy infrastructure including transmission (OH, UG, substations) and generation facilities. Program highlights include new transmission and generation facilities for modernization, resilience and capacity as well as renewables including Offshore Wind and Solar Facilities.  Specific focus in NY and New England required with regulatory expertise with NYSDEC Art. VII/VIII, state and federal permitting programs in NY and interest in supporting Siting and Permitting Filings in New England, with state EFSB’s and related state and federal permitting. Prior experience with siting, environmental constraints evaluation, and permitting associated with BOEM OSW Wind Energy Areas and transmission interconnects highly desirable.

This role will combine traditional seller-doer-manager capabilities with a focus on growth and execution of these programs.  Strong communications skills, proven siting and permitting expertise, working with project teams and superior regulatory skills required.  While a focus on the electrical energy market sector (environmental context); additional projects involving FERC (Oil and Gas), other linear corridor projects and associated siting and permitting will also be in the mix. Compliance phase scoping and management will also be included in this role.

Prior experience in task and project management, client engagement and business development/proposal preparation required.

The candidate will be joining one of the strongest and deepest EPP Teams in the northeast with an extensive backlog of project work in multiple client sectors and a strong presence in the renewable energy arena, in particular Offshore Wind Energy Permitting.  This is a full-time career opportunity to work in a strong team environment.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

BS/BA in Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science, Geology or related field +10 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and / or education. Due to the nature of work, US Citizenship is Required.Valid Driver’s License and as a condition of employment must be able to pass AECOM’s Motor Vehicle Records review.Siting & Permitting experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s degree in science related studies desirable and 15 + years of experience.
