For Those Who Work At Home, OhioWe are seeking an experienced LDAP Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for supporting and maintaining our IBM Security Directory Server infrastructure. Your primary focus will be on implementing new versions, performing upgrades, and ensuring the continued stability and performance of our LDAP environment. This position requires a hands-on engineer who can manage day-to-day operations and contribute to larger infrastructure projects.
Essential Job FunctionsProvide daily operational support for IBM Security Directory Server, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.Plan and execute upgrades and patching for IBM Security Directory Server.Build, maintain, and document infrastructure components for assigned work.Troubleshoot and resolve system and client experience issues across environments, applications, or platforms.Collaborate with cross-functional teams (security, application, infrastructure) to ensure seamless LDAP integration.Mentor and guide junior engineers to support their technical growth.Stay current with industry trends in identity and access management; propose innovative improvements.Ensure compliance with IT standards (e.g., information security, audit, compliance).Assist in testing and evaluating new and existing solutions and capabilities.Deliver mature monitoring, improved resiliency, and high availability through technical documentation and automation.Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.Demonstrate a willingness to learn new technologies, especially in the Web Access Management space.Preferred Technical QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; or 5+ years of IT experience in a large enterprise environment.Relevant certifications (e.g., IBM Security Verify Directory).5+ years of experience managing and supporting LDAP environments, with specific expertise in IBM Security Directory Server.Familiarity with Agile methodologies.Strong understanding of identity and access management concepts (e.g., session cookies, certificates, encryption).Experience with IBM Security Access Manager (ISAM) configuration and system management.Proficiency in scripting and automation (e.g., Python, Ansible, Ruby, Shell, Bash).Intermediate to advanced knowledge of Linux and/or UNIX.Working knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, HTTP, FTP, SSL, PKI, firewalls, DMZ).Understanding of database concepts, particularly DB2.Strong documentation skills for technical processes and configurations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.Additional Suggestions (Optional Enhancements)Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Define how success in this role will be measured (e.g., uptime, incident resolution time, upgrade completion).Team Structure: Briefly describe the team this role will be part of and reporting lines.Tools & Technologies: Mention any specific tools used for monitoring, ticketing, or CI/CD pipelines.Work Environment: Clarify if the role is hybrid, remote, or on-site, and any travel expectations.Growth Opportunities: Highlight potential career paths or learning opportunities within the organization.COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS
This position is eligible to earn a base salary in the range of $120,000 to $130,000 annually depending on location and job-related factors such as level of experience. Compensation for this role also includes eligibility for short-term incentive compensation and deferred incentive compensation subject to individual and company performance.
