Job Title: Senior Electrical Engineer
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline. MMUP Grade A certified engineer preferred.
Experience Requirements Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in large buildings, infrastructure, and civil projects. Strong knowledge of international standards and/or QatarEnergy standards related to electrical engineering. Proven experience managing time, cost, and quality across multiple engineering projects. Proficiency in the latest electrical engineering design software and tools. Strong ability to resolve technical challenges, including those related to adjacent engineering disciplines. Ability to prioritize, manage, and complete multiple tasks within scheduled deadlines while addressing urgent and unscheduled activities. Strong communication and presentation skills with fluency in English. Demonstrated ability to coordinate with stakeholders, foster teamwork, and collaborate effectively with internal and external parties.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities Serve as the discipline engineer responsible for delivering high-quality technical services. Perform concept definition, engineering studies, and detailed designs, and develop scope documents as per approved standards and procedures. Review, verify, and approve technical designs and contractor bids in line with approved engineering standards. Deliver engineering services in a timely manner to meet project requirements. Provide expert advice and support on electrical engineering matters throughout all project stages. Plan and coordinate the activities of a team of engineers to support project execution, ensuring quality technical services and reviewing execution strategies. Support the Discipline Head/Lead in managing QatarEnergy electrical discipline standards. Participate in technical assurance and standardization activities, and ensure compliance with approved engineering standards. Approve or endorse technical deviations, waivers, and variations to guidelines, codes, and standards. Ensure full implementation of environmental, process safety, and other relevant safety requirements. Contribute to competency development within the discipline, including supporting structured training programs for developing Qatari engineers.
