Job Responsibilities
Develop, plan, implement, review, and monitor environmental, health and safety (EHS) management system for the Mexicali manufacturing site. Act as the point-of-contact with Regional and Global EHS as well as an expert resource for EHS related needs for site personnel and management. Ensure compliance with all applicable EHS legislations, company and industry practices, and other requirements. Handles all interactions with corporate, external auditors, STPS, SEMARNAT, SALUD, Protección Civil, and all other applicable agencies and stakeholders. Liaise with management team, operations team, customers, authorities, and other stakeholders on all environment and occupational health and safety issues. Ensure EHS hazard identification and risk assessment reviews are carried out for all work activities and appropriate risk control actions are taken to mitigate identified risks. Support in the conduct, and monitoring of incident investigations, identifying root cause, recommending corrective actions, and follow up until closure and ensure proper reporting to the relevant authorities are carried out. Conduct and monitor regular EHS compliance inspections, audits, and incident investigations to improve EHS work environment and culture, and to prevent recurrences of identified non-conformances. Identify, develop, deliver, and/or monitor site EHS related training programs for employees, including emergency response, and other competency or compliance related training needs. Manage and publish program documents, records, and reports to ensure compliance with respect to environmental and occupational health and safety requirements. Organize and support EHS committees, emergency response programs, business resilience plan, outreach activities and promotional programs.Minimum Qualification and Skills:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Occupational Health and Safety, Science, or Engineering More than 10 years of relevant experience in manufacturing required with a minimum of 3 years in an EHS manager’s role. Possess required relevant professional education or certification. Experience in ISO14001, ISO 45001, Responsible Business Alliance (RBA), and similar accredited EHS management systems. Possess sound understanding and knowledge of environmental, health and safety regulations and industry related standards. Be a hands-on person in carrying out audit, inspection, risk assessment and incident investigation, preparation of program documents and reports, and liaising and follow-up with internal and external stakeholders. Proficient in computer literacy skills including Microsoft Office applications. Ability to organize and conduct an effective meeting and promotional programs with focus on the objective and results.
