Scope of Position

Support the Sullivan Park Environmental, Health & Safety & Materials Management team day to day tasks for all process and laboratory operations onsite. This may include Toxic Substances Control Act (TSCA) requirements, environmental safety data sheet reviews, industrial hygiene programs (specifically TSCA-related), Tier II chemical inventory management and reporting, site refrigerant use tracking and NYS Part 494 implementation, and ISO 14001 EMS project development and participation.  Cross-functional project work and task leader responsibilities across environmental, safety, and materials management disciplines as directed (e.g. train as incident investigator, management of change case owner, etc.).

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

The Sr. EHS Engineer will provide leadership, technical support, program auditing, and strategy development for site environmental programs and initiatives for all media (Waste, Water, Air, SPCC, etc.) as required.  These may include:

 

Provide daily support and direction for EHS and Technology Community personnel Technical support for existing federal regulations, updates, and modification as required for TSCA and other environmental requirements for incoming chemicals Responsible for submitting TSCA federal compliance reports (e.g.: CDR, Export/Import Notifications, and SNUR execution) Participate in root cause analysis when non-compliance events occur, and verification of completed corrective actions Technical support for existing federal and state regulations, updates, and modification as required for documentation (namely EPCRA Tier II and NYS Part 494 and 495)

 

Required Qualifications BS required; environmental science, EHS management, engineering, materials science, or related technical field preferred. 3+ years experience Strong communication and listening skills MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint (minimum) Demonstrates respect and courtesy for others Positive professional attitude and willingness to learn Can work independently and within a diverse team environment Desired Qualifications TSCA Experience 3-5 years Experience with management of change processes Goal and results oriented

The range for this position is  $73,310.00 - $100,801.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
