Position Brand Description:
The Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) Organization, part of Corporate Engineering and Continuous Improvement, delivers new and renovated capital assets around the world. Our mission is accomplished through a highly leveraged organization of design, construction and qualification contractors. Many of the assets delivered focus on medical innovation and delivering innovative solutions to patients. Some of the assets delivered will support an expansion in supply of existing medicines or making the supply chain more robust.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
This position leads an engineering organization tasked with doing front end planning and design oversight for major manufacturing capital projects.
This includes the following:
Administrative: Manage a staff of exempt level employees including Performance Reviews, Development Plans, staffing and planning models, work load assignments and compensation reviews. Manage departmental expenses for cost center.
Compliance: Throughout the project lifecycle influence project execution to remain in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures. This includes alignment with financial policies and Engineering/Quality Standards based on Safety/Environmental, Industry Regulatory, and other applicable Government regulations.
Safety/Environment: Influence and maintain the safety culture within the Lilly staff and the design and construction resources they use to execute work. Actively engage in safety/environmental event reviews and corrective actions.
Divisional Leadership: participate in GFD Leadership activities – weekly lead teams, quarterly divisional meetings, staff administration, improvement teams and divisional team building activities.
Basic Requirements:
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage teams of very experienced engineering professionals. The capacity to achieve results through people is critical and ability to influence personnel and organizations without having direct authority.
The ability to facilitate issue resolution, anticipate changes, plan ahead, and implement with quality speed and value.
Demonstrated experience in applying a structured approach to project management that is compliant with Policies and Procedures
Effective communication skills with ability to build strong interfaces with a broad spectrum of personnel at all levels of the organizations - Lilly and external partners.
Able to obtain a valid Passport.
Provide management oversight for the front end planning processes on major capital projects. This includes the profiling and design phases which set the initial scope for major capital projects.
Establish an organization to fulfill the design oversight deliverables outlined in the efforts to improve design oversight.
Influence the global organization to engage in capital project front end planning activities so as to achieve maximum value for capital investment. This will entail working closely with sites to ensure adequate and appropriate user representation early in the project as well and ensuring adequate corporate engineering resources are available and engaged with the process
Ensure that the design processes which are heavily leveraged have adequate oversight.
Minimum Requirements:
Fundamental understanding of asset delivery processes
Understanding of manufacturing site operations and ability to establish strong rapport with engineering management at the site. Minimum of 10 years of manufacturing experience.
Previous management experience.
Preferred:
Experience in either active pharmaceutical ingredients or drug product platforms.
Experience with the design process for capital projects.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is
$151,500 - $222,200Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
