**What will you do?**
The Senior Director leading Portfolio & Program Management plays a crucial leadership role in steering the strategic growth and implementation of the R&D portfolio for Cell Biology within the Biosciences division (BID). This role demands a forward-thinking leader who advocates excellence in program management and product development, while promoting an inclusive and collaborative team environment.
**Strategic Leadership:**
+ Collaborate cross-divisionally to develop and integrate multiple segments into a cohesive vision and annual plan for Cell Biology’s R&D portfolio.
+ Translate strategic plans into a multi-year roadmap, balancing investment and global return.
+ Critically review the New-Product-Introduction (NPI) portfolio and development process with Cell Biology and BID leadership, call out & resolve issues, assess return on investment, and drive prioritization & continuous improvement.
+ Represent the Portfolio & Program Management organization on the Cell Biology leadership team and via divisional, monthly business reviews.
+ Build effective cross-functional relationships with team members, executives, and customers, encouraging collaboration and alignment.
**Functional Advocacy and Excellence**
+ Champion best practices in program management and product development.
+ Advocate for a culture of innovation in a diverse and inclusive environment where team members feel valued and are empowered to contribute.
+ Hire, assign, and develop a team of program managers and segment-portfolio managers within Cell Biology, ensuring they have the resources and support needed to succeed.
+ Communicate clear standards of roles & responsibilities, provide mentoring on performance, and build personal development plans to improve team capabilities.
**How will you get here?**
**Education**
Bachelor's degree (B. S. or B.A.), preferably in the Life Sciences, from four-year college or university preferred.
**Experience**
+ 4+ years of portfolio management experience at a BU or Division level.
+ 15+ years combined product development and project management experience, of which a portion must be in the Life Sciences.
+ Excellent English and executive communication; capable of developing and delivering persuasive presentations.
+ Confirmed ability to work on sophisticated, multi-faceted problems with minimal direction and recommend modifications to meet organizational goals.
+ Strong personal skills with the ability to influence others, gain acceptance in difficult situations, and drive alignment across diverse teams.
**Compensation and Benefits**
The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $212,000.00–$317,975.00.
This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
