Job Description
Provides divisional leadership for establishing, governing, and continuously improving the customer project and portfolio management operating model across the Drug Substance Division. Focused on enabling predictable execution, enterprise transparency, and a differentiated customer experience through strong governance, disciplined decision-making, and cross-functional alignment. Operates in a highly matrixed environment, providing functional leadership to site PPM organizations and influencing senior leaders across Operations, Quality, Finance, and Commercial. Drives results with integrity, fosters collaboration, and champions continuous improvement at scale.
What will you do?
Establish and improve a scalable, division-wide PPM governance frameworkDefine and standardize methodologies, tools, metrics, and performance expectationsEnsure consistent application of phase-gate governance, risk management, and change controlLead executive portfolio and governance forumsDrive operational excellence by increasing portfolio visibility, predictability, and throughputProvide enterprise-level insight into program health, capacity, risk, and financial outlookPartner with Finance, Commercial, and Operations leadersEstablish and lead the customer experience governance modelOwn and manage above-site escalation pathways in partnership with commercialProvide functional leadership and matrix oversight to site-level PPM leadersCollaborate with PPM leaders across Pharma Services and Thermo FisherLead with integrity, inclusion, and accountabilityHow will you get here?
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred12+ years of experience in biopharmaceutical, CDMO, or regulated manufacturing environmentsExperience designing and leading portfolio and governance operating modelsSuccess leading matrixed, multi-site organizationsStrong executive presence, communication, and influence skillsFinancial and operational acumen across complex portfoliosAbility to travel 25% - domestic and internationalEducation
Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred
Requirements
Extensive leadership experience in PPM governance and customer operations
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree and experience in CDMO environments
Experience in one or more of the following areas desired
Biopharmaceutical operations, governance frameworks, and customer experience management

Compensation and Benefits
The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $212,000.00–$282,600.00.This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
