**What’s the job?** The Sr. Director, Operations – Gypsum West oversees performance across manufacturing sites in the Gypsum West region, including corners and finishing operations spanning six distinct processes. This role fosters an inclusive, high-performing culture focused on safety, engagement, customer centricity, sustainability, quality, and cost control. Responsible for all plant operations—EHS, quality, production, engineering, maintenance, supply chain, purchasing, risk prevention, and IT—the role drives continuous improvement through lean, Six Sigma, WCM, and other tools to enable cross-functional learning and profitable growth.As the regional operations leader, this position collaborates with peers to implement MFG 4.0, supporting SMART Factory design through automation, data exchange, and advanced manufacturing technologies. It also partners with IT to leverage real-time data for transparent, predictive, and agile operations. Key Responsibilities Operational Excellence & Continuous Improvement •- - - Builds regional leadership capability in financial performance and KPI management to balance customer satisfaction, employee engagement, and profitability. •  Champions lean, WCM, and Six Sigma to drive cost reduction, productivity, and OPI improvements. •  Coaches plant leaders across functions—supply chain, quality, maintenance, production, and engineering—on cost deployment and prioritization. •  Promotes a culture of continuous improvement through incremental ideas and performance optimization. Employee Engagement & Development •  Fosters an inclusive, team-oriented culture rooted in trust, empowerment, and collaboration. •  Aligns manufacturing goals with broader organizational strategies through cross-functional communication. •  Supports employee well-being and models SG Principles of Conduct and Attitudes. •  Partners with HR to build workforce development plans that promote agility and learning. •  Guides plant leadership in community engagement to strengthen brand reputation. EHS & Risk Prevention •  Embeds high standards for safety, health, 5S, and environmental stewardship into daily operations. •  Ensures compliance with Saint-Gobain EHS standards and proactively addresses hazards. •  Oversees adherence to federal and state EHS regulations. •  Leads risk mitigation efforts to achieve highly protected ratings and compliance with SGC/CT policies. Finance & CAPEX Leadership •  Partners with engineering teams to define and execute short- and long-term capital projects. •  Interprets P&L reports to coach teams on financial performance. •  Manages regional budgets and ensures timely execution of annual and reforecasting cycles. - **What do you bring?-** + Bachelor’s degree in Business of technical field (Master’s preferred).- + 10+ years of progressive experience in manufacturing operations (Required)- + 10+ years of proven leadership in people management, project execution, and change initiatives (Required)- + 10+ years of demonstrated safety and health leadership with strong knowledge of OSHA standards (Required)- + 8+ years of cross-functional leadership experience (Preferred)- + 7+ years of experience in gypsum manufacturing or similar process environments (Preferred)- + 7+ years of understanding of environmental factors in operational settings (Preferred)- + 7+ years of capital project leadership, managing budgets between $5M–$20M (Preferred)- **What are our perks?-** We provide unique options to fit your unique lives! The national pay range for this position is $195,500 to $312,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. - In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 36% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures.
