Sr. Director, Operations - Insulation

**_What’s the job?_**
The Sr. Director, Operations leads strategy and execution for CertainTeed Insulation business. This role drives operational excellence across manufacturing, engineering, sales, and customer service, aligning with Saint-Gobain’s TEC culture and Principles of Conduct and Action. Key responsibilities include improving quality, service, productivity, and cost efficiency while ensuring safety and environmental compliance.
As the operations leader, this role collaborates across teams to implement MFG 4.0 and SMART Factory methodologies—leveraging automation, data exchange, and real-time visibility to build agile, customer-centric facilities. The director partners with HR to align workforce development with digital transformation and oversees regional budgets and KPIs to support engagement, growth, and performance.
**EHS and Risk Prevention**
+ Fosters a culture of safety, 5S, and environmental stewardship.
+ Ensures compliance with Saint-Gobain EHS standards and proactively addresses hazards.
+ Oversees regional adherence to federal and state EHS regulations.
+ Drives continuous improvement through risk assessments and mitigation aligned with SGC standards.
+ Leads risk grading efforts to maintain compliance with policies, insurance, and asset controls.
**Employee Engagement and Development**
+ Builds an inclusive, collaborative culture rooted in trust and empowerment.
+ Aligns manufacturing goals with broader business strategies through cross-functional communication.
+ Promotes employee well-being and embodies SG values and competencies.
+ Partners with HR to implement workforce development and continuous learning.
+ Guides plant leaders in community engagement to support brand reputation.
**Operational Excellence and Continuous Improvement**
+ Develops leadership teams to understand financials and KPIs for balanced performance.
+ Champions lean, WCM, or Six Sigma practices to drive cost, productivity, and OPI improvements.
+ Mentors plant leaders across functions to prioritize impactful cost reduction initiatives.
**Finance and CAPEX Leadership**
+ Partners with engineering teams to plan and manage capital projects and approvals.
+ Interprets P&L reports to coach teams on financial performance.
+ Leads regional budgeting and forecasting processes.
**What do you bring?-**
**Education-**
+ Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Engineering, or a related field (required)-
+ Master’s degree in Business, Finance, or Operations (preferred)-
**Experience-**
+ 15–20 years of progressive leadership experience in manufacturing (required)-
+ 5–8 years of experience managing managers (required)-
+ 5 years of multi-site operational leadership (required)-
+ 3–5+ years of cross-functional experience outside of operations (preferred)-
+ 10+ years of experience in insulation manufacturing (required)-

Certain states require pay information be provided in job postings. The national pay range for this position is $195,500 to $312,500 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. -
In addition to base salary, this position is eligible for an annual bonus. The targeted bonus amount is 36% of base salary based on company and individual performance measures. The total target cash range (base pay and annual bonus) for this position, is $265,200 to $425,000. -
