Position Summary

The Sr. Director, Finance will serve as a business partner in the strategy and execution of the advancing Purification and Pharma Analytics (PPA) Business Unit. The role provides strategic business and financial partnership with the VP/GM, PPA and peer staff to make strategic decisions to drive growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Serve as the business partner to the BU Leadership Team, combining business strategy support and financial counsel about short and long-term operational goals, budgets and forecasts.Candidate will own the P&L of the business unit and will demonstrate expertise in the following areas in coordination with the General Managers:Investment Strategy to drive profitable growthOperations FinanceFinancial planning and analysis - Drive improvements and accountability for EBITA Margin (Price, Volume Mix, Net Productivity, OPEX)Financial & business development modeling, including M&AsResource Planning through S&OPLead and drive the components of cash flow including CAPEX, inventory, and accounts receivable.Run the daily operations as well as the annual budget and multi-year strategic review cycle with Group Leadership Team and Company Leadership Team:Monthly ForecastingQuarterly & Monthly Business ReviewsAnnual Operating Plan & Strategic (STRAP) PlanningLead and develop a global finance team to deliver results.Demonstrate the ability to balance strategy with a “rolling up your sleeves” partnerships to the business.Find opportunities for improving financial operations and work with the team to implement changes. Focus on continuous operational improvement globally identifying and sponsoring projects on a global scale applying our PPI methodologies and AI/Digital tools.

Qualifications:

10+ years of financial reporting and operations leadership experience in a multinational, multi-site business to drive value and progress.Strong partner to senior leaders in services environments to influence for stronger business outcomes.Experience leading diverse global financial reporting in an accurate and timely manner.Strong leadership skills and shown ability to adapt leadership style to different situations and people.Experience working in a matrixed environmentAbility to handle ambiguity is a must.Play an active role in leading the business, providing challenge and support in equal measure.Strong control and risk management approach.Must have an outstanding attention to detail and strong process orientation with continuous improvement mentality.Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.20%+ travel requirement.At Thermo Fisher Scientific, each one of our 120,000 extraordinary minds have a unique story to tell. Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Massachusetts is $192,700.00–$256,900.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
