What you'll be doing 

Reporting to the VP Corporate Security, the Senior Director and Head of Enterprise Physical Security is a critical leader within CIBC’s Corporate Security team.  The Senior Director is responsible for architecting, advancing, and executing a highly technical, risk-driven, and future-ready physical security program across the enterprise. You will drive the adoption of advanced security technologies, oversee the Executive Protection program, risk management frameworks, and ensure the resilience of CIBC’s people, assets, and reputation in a rapidly evolving threat landscape. This role demands deep technical expertise, strategic vision, and operational excellence to deliver a world-class, standardized, and scalable global physical security program. You will lead highly experienced, multidisciplinary teams, manage high-stakes incidents, and continuously enhance our security posture through innovation, analytics, and industry best practices.

How You’ll Succeed

Strategic and Technical Leadership: Design, implement, and continuously enhance a comprehensive, enterprise-wide physical security program integrating advanced technologies (AI-driven surveillance, access control, IoT sensors, and coordinate with Fusion Threat Intelligence on physical security threats). Lead Corporate Security’s physical security incident management program, including the Kidnap and Ransom Playbook, real-time monitoring, rapid response protocols, and post-incident reviews.  Work closely with the Fusion Response team and ensure 24/7 readiness and resilience for all CIBC facilities globally. Maintain, enhance and execute a robust technology roadmap, ensuring the timely upgrade, integration, and decommissioning of security systems in alignment with business objectives and regulatory requirementsGovernance, Standards & Compliance: Maintain, enforce, and regularly update rigorous physical security standards, policies, and technical protocols to protect CIBC’s physical, informational, financial, and intellectual property assets. Ensure all physical security operations meet or exceed applicable legal, regulatory, and industry requirements. Direct comprehensive security audits, vulnerability assessments, and red team testing of physical security controls. Remediate findings and report on risk posture to executive leadership.Operational Excellence: Lead enterprise-wide security threat and risk assessments.  Develop and track key risk indicators (KRIs) and performance metrics (KPIs) to drive continuous improvement. Oversee selection, evaluation, and performance management of third-party security vendors, integrators, and technology partners. Manage multi-million-dollar budgets, ensuring cost-effective deployment of resources and technologies while maximizing security outcomes.Talent and Stakeholder engagement: Build, mentor, and retain a high-performing, technically skilled security team. Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning. Advise and support executive leadership, business units, and external partners on complex security matters. Partner with regional teams in the US, Caribbean and APAX.  Lead cross-functional crisis management teams and represent CIBC in industry forums.

Who You Are

You can demonstrate 10+ years of experience in Enterprise physical security, corporate security, or security risk management, with at least 3 years in a leadership role overseeing large-scale, multi-site security operations. Financial services sector experience strongly preferred. You have demonstrated proficiency in advanced physical security technologies (e.g., AI/ML-enabled surveillance, biometric access control, integrated security management systems, IoT security devices, and security analytics platforms). You have advanced knowledge of physical security risk assessment methodologies and incident response frameworks, strong understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements in financial services, proven ability to manage complex projects, budgets, and cross-functional teams, exceptional communication, negotiation, and crisis leadership skills.You’re a certified professional. You have current accreditation and good standing in Professional security designations (e.g., CPP, PSP, PCI from ASIS International.  It’s an asset if you have CISSP,CISM or equivalentYou have a bachelor's or Masters degree/diploma in Security Management, Engineering, or a related field.You act like an owner.
