Job Description Senior Data Engineer Client of Insight Global | Long-term Opportunity | AWS Transformation Project Duration: 6 month contract with likely extension and possible conversion Location: Fully remote in Colorado, Minneapolis, or Minnesota Insight Global is supporting a client that is going through a large-scale data transformation. We’re looking for a Senior Data Engineer with strong hands-on experience building scalable, cloud-native data platforms in AWS. This is a software engineering-focused role (not administrative/DBA-heavy) where you’ll design and implement modern lakehouse architectures using AWS managed services, open table formats (Iceberg preferred), and EKS/Argo-based compute environments. Skills and Requirements • 4–5+ years of Data Engineering experience  • Strong Python engineering background (beyond scripting; production-grade pipelines)  • Proven experience designing & implementing AWS lakehouse architectures  • Core AWS services: S3, Glue, Athena, Glue Data Catalog, Lake Formation, CloudWatch  • Experience with open table formats (Iceberg preferred)  • Knowledge of Slowly Changing Dimensions (SCD Type 2) • Strong communication and documentation skills • Experience with Quicksight, Tableau, or Cognos  • Familiarity with EKS-based orchestration (EMR on EKS, Argo Workflows)  • DataOps practices & CI/CD for data pipelines  • Infrastructure-as-code with Terraform or CloudFormation  • Exposure to data quality frameworks (Deequ, Great Expectations) • Undergraduate degree (not required)
