Sr. Customer Solutions Manager, Aerospace & Satellite

As a leader championing customer success in the WorldWide Public Sector (WWPS) Aerospace & Satellites (A&S) Customer Solutions Management organization, you will lead a team that is responsible for guiding and advancing AWS global space industry customers along their multi-year journey to the cloud. You will recruit, develop, and support a group of highly talented individuals that are obsessed with our customers success. Using your experience, you will work with your team, sales and other leaders across AWS to drive strategy, accelerate customer’s journey to the cloud, improve customer engagement, drive adoption and expansion of customer’s footprint on AWS, solve problems, and foster the rapid growth of the organization.

The Senior Customer Solutions Management role is a function that owns our customer's journey throughout the adoption process and ensures we are continuing to provide value as we increase retention and expand the customer’s footprint on AWS. The team guides our customers through the technology, operational, educational and governance aspects of a successful AWS cloud journey. They interface with customer and AWS leadership, driving collaboration between other core account groups.

In this role, you will be technically capable and credible in your own right as well as effective in shaping the customer journey and skills of your team. You must enjoy learning and introducing new concepts in order to help colleagues and customers embrace and adopt new technology. Furthermore, thought leadership in terms of looking beyond the technology and helping to develop out mechanism to help our customers be successful with AWS. You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. You will need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other departments within AWS such as our sales, services, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.

Key job responsibilities
Working with organizations in all stages of their cloud adoption, Customer Solutions Managers (CSMs) are advocates guiding customers through the value realization, enablement, and governance of their cloud transformation journey.

Value Realization: You identify and accelerate the customer’s realization of value throughout the cloud lifecycle through the adoption of AWS services, AWS partner solutions, AWS best practices, and other.

Enablement: You help customers achieve organizational cloud readiness, cloud fluency and cloud skills through skills guilds, experience-based accelerators, training partners, and other.

Governance: You establish and mature operating models / structures to drive scale and long-term success through the application of AWS frameworks and mechanisms.

This position requires that the candidate selected be a US citizen and be able to obtain and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph if needed.

A day in the life

Day-to-day, you will balance your time between directly engaging with customers, partners, internal AWS teams and services to help our customers on their journey in the AWS Cloud.

You will work across AWS to apply your technical, business, and program management expertise to solve some of the most complex and challenging technology problems for our customers.

Working backwards from the customer, you may define opportunities that are strategic to the customer’s cloud journey including large-scale migrations, data analytics, digital transformation and innovation, business agility and other.

You will interface with partner and cross-functional teams, customer team members, and pre/post sales to drive detailed discussions seeking alignment to deliver cloud adoption and migration strategies with, and on behalf of your customer.

You create, manage, and deliver business and technology projects navigating risks or roadblocks and can execute in an ambiguous and changing environment.

To support the evolution of the AWS customer experience and/or Customer Solutions Manager discipline, you are expected to share best practice learnings into a reusable asset for internal re-use.

Seeking a candidate who is willing to pass the Certified Solution Architect, Associate level within the first 6 months of employment.

This position may require 25% - 40% travel dependent on geo and time of year. (geo-specific)

This role is a key member of the Aerospace and Satellite (A&S) Customer Solutions Team, and will interface directly with customers, AWS functional teams, and AWS leadership.

Worldwide Public Sector CSMs are advocates that help customers invent and build in the cloud.
