Sr. Cost Accountant

Senior Cost Accountant (60-day assignment) responsible for managing cost accounting workload, documenting processes, and supporting transition to a permanent Cost Accountant II.

Job Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

5+ years of cost accounting experience in a corporate or manufacturing environment

Strong knowledge of standard cost, variance analysis, and inventory/cost of goods sold accounting

Experience using ERP/accounting systems for cost accounting activities

Proficiency with Excel and standard reporting tools

Ability to start quickly and operate effectively in a short-term assignment

Preferred Skills

Experience creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) or process documentation

Prior experience training or mentoring staff accountants or cost accountants

Background in process improvement within accounting or finance functions

Job Responsibilities

Manage the current cost accounting workload during the 60-day assignment

Perform standard cost updates, cost roll-ups, and related cost accounting tasks as required

Prepare and analyze cost reports, variances, and inventory-related accounting entries

Create clear, detailed Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) based on existing notes and current practices

Organize and structure process documentation for ongoing use by the permanent Cost Accountant II

Assist in training and knowledge transfer to the permanent Cost Accountant II, including walkthroughs of key tasks and reports

Pay: 46-48

Pay Details: $46.00 to $48.00 per hour
