Job Title: RPH01I – Sr Contracts Manager
Brief Description: United BioSource (UBC) is seeking a talented contract and budget specialist prepared to support all aspects of the company’s commercial contracting requirements. Experience with a Contract Research Organization or experience supporting transactions in the pharmaceutical/biotech industry is strongly preferred. The position will report to UBC’s Director, Contracts.
Specific job duties:
Draft, review and negotiate commercial contracts (including statements of work, change orders, addenda, non-disclosure agreements, and the like) using UBC standard templates.With guidance from legal department, negotiate key terms in non-disclosure agreements.Identify and escalate issues as needed to various internal stakeholders (finance, operations, legal, privacy, etc.).Work cross-functionally with proposals, pricing, implementation, operations, and account management to develop internal resource budgets and client-facing contract budgets, ensuring the contract budget accurately reflects the written scope of work.Utilize budget information to develop payment schedules for customer and related vendor/subcontractor agreements.Work with Project Management team on client/vendor change order requests.Identify and apply cost factors to develop unit, task, and/or resource-based budget line items to develop client–requested pricing and estimates; Incorporate required client revisions into cost formulas and document the same.Review and analyze contract terms and advise business leaders as to contractual obligations (term and termination, budget and payment terms, scope of services, etc.).Manage outsourcing/vendor management activities in support of vendor selection and contract negotiations of other types of study-related agreements, including laboratory, consulting, other vendor service agreements and related scopes of work as needed.Support the contract management processes, including template development and translations, documentation of contract template and revision approvals, signature process, status tracking and reporting, scanning, filing and archiving original agreements.Maintain accuracy of contract templates as well as country specific budgets, requirements and timelines, and make available to project teams as needed. Monitor changes for potential template impact.Facilitate requests for pricing related to operational contract management as needed.Supervisory Responsibility: N/A
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
At least 10 years relevant experience drafting and negotiating commercial contracts (including contract budgets)Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent Experience at a Contract Research Organization or in life sciences industry is preferredExcellent English verbal and written communication skillsDemonstrated financial and analytical skillsGood understanding of clinical trial budget managementAbility to interpret pricing/costing models, bid grids, and pricing proposalsProficiency with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Salesforce.comExperience using or implementing Contracts Management software is preferredMust possess good organizational skills and flexibility to manage multiple priorities and take on new initiatives to support rapid growthExceptional attention to detail and organizational abilitySelf-motivated and proactive in resolving issues, with ability to multi-task and prioritize workloadAbility to interact with senior leaders across multiple functionsAdherence to established company proceduresBenefits:
