**What You’ll Be Doing**
As a QA Specialist within the 2nd Line of Defense (GORM), you will play a key role in supporting and overseeing the quality assurance process for control testing performed by 1st Line Business (1B) teams. You will conduct independent reviews, validate control testing results, and help drive process improvement, while also providing guidance and support to team members. Your responsibilities will contribute directly to CIBC’s risk management objectives and ensure adherence to internal standards and regulatory expectations.

**How You’ll Succeed**
+ **Quality Assurance Reviews** : Independently review and assess the completeness, accuracy, and consistency of control testing documentation completed by 1B teams.
+ **Sample-Based Testing** : Execute sample-based QA testing on 1B control test results to validate adherence to established methodologies, standards, and regulatory requirements.
+ **Issue Identification & Feedback** : Identify gaps, deficiencies, or inconsistencies in control testing approaches and provide clear, constructive feedback to 1B teams to drive continuous improvement.
+ **Documentation** : Prepare and maintain clear, concise, and well-supported QA findings and recommendations.
+ **Stakeholder Collaboration** : Collaborate with business partners and stakeholders to clarify testing procedures, resolve issues, and ensure consistent application of control testing standards.
+ **Continuous Improvement** : Actively contribute to the ongoing enhancement of QA processes, methodologies, and tools within GORM.
+ **Knowledge Management** : Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies related to risk and control management.
+ **Reporting & Documentation** : Prepare comprehensive QA reports that highlight findings, root causes, and actionable recommendations for remediation.
**Who You Are**

+ **Bachelor’s degree in Business** , Finance, Risk Management, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., CIA, CRMA, CISA) is an asset.
+ **Minimum 4 years of experience** in risk management, internal audit, or quality assurance, ideally within financial services.
+ **Strong understanding of risks** (operational, regulatory compliance, financial, etc.), control frameworks, and control testing methodologies.
+ **Excellent analytical, problem-solving** , and communication skills, both written and verbal.
+ **Experience in** quality checking, supervising, or coaching QA or audit work.
+ **Ability to manage** multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines.
+ **Proficiency in** MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
+ **Knowledge of CIBC’s** Control Framework and regulatory environment is an asset.
