What You’ll Be Doing

The Senior Consultant, Application Development is responsible for leading the functional design and development of application systems across the technology stack. The Senior Consultant, Application Development also provides technical leadership to develop precise steps and processing logic across the platform, ensuring the designed specifications achieve business needs and follows correct coding standards and best practices. In addition, the role provides comprehensive senior level technical consulting to other IT senior management and senior technical teams. The role makes technology selection decisions that are often made in situations where business requirements are not completely defined. In this team the candidate is expected to work on Capital Markets Technology, related to funding and collateral management. There are combination of greenfield project including DEVOPs deliverables and new business tools/reporting, TechDebt work such as platform and infrastructure upgrades and smaller enhancements and bug fixes for currently live platform. Our backend is mainly built on C# Lucid platform, in addition to smaller use cases and functionalities within Autosys, Databricks and Batch scripts.

How You’ll Succeed

Ownership and End to End Delivery: Understand the requirements and find avenues to fill any gaps within them. Deploy code changes and unit tests along with assisting BA’s to perform functional testing. Assist QA with regression testing and make sure code is part of release timeline/package and instructions are provided to release managers. Finally verify and or assist release manager/management with deployment is necessary.Strategic Development & Execution: Perform and coordinate complex solution design activities. Understand the business requirements and translate them into system and application design that is aligned with our technology roadmap, using best practices and standards within the team and the enterprise. Design and document the technical functionality, infrastructure, interfaces, and integrations. Strategy and Roadmap: Contribute to technology roadmaps that are aligned with the bank’s vision, strategy, and business objectives. Lead multiple complex technology solutions while maintaining consistency across the platform, adopting best practices and pushing forward continuous improvementsStakeholder Management: Act as the solution lead and interface with the project teams by driving and moderating design review sessions to walk stakeholders through and ensure that the overall design aligns with business requirements as well as architectural directions. Support and mentor junior designers and developers through knowledge sharing, collaboration and effective problem solvingRequired Skills and Experience: Have proficiency and knowledge/experience with: C# .NET, TSQL/SQL, GITHUB/GIT, Batch Script/Powershell, ETL Processes and Capital Markets Technology/Business.Tech savvy – An asset if you possess experience with ETL, WebAPI/Rest Services, Databricks (Scala or Python), Python, Autosys, Azure Cloud Services and Messaging Services (Solace/MQ)

You can demonstrate 5+ years’ experience in. Designing, developing, implementing and supporting applications with expertise in most of the following: C#.NET, Databases (TSQL/MSSQL), Python and development Tools(source control/issue management: Git, TFS, JIRA, Azure DevOps). You can easily adapt to new tools and trends.You have a degree/diploma: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Technical discipline.Values matter to you.
