Sr. Commodity Merchandiser – U.S.

Primary Functions:

Under the direction of the Director Raw Materials Food & Industrial, the Sr. Commodity Merchandiser will have primary responsibilities to perform the corn purchasing function for one or more manufacturing locations. This includes supporting the procurement plan to ensure uninterrupted supply of corn per grind requirements, developing vendor relationships and ensuring systems are accurate and up to date. The scope of gross spend for this role is ~ $200 MM.  This role will have multidisciplinary, supporting responsibilities, across the regular corn and specialty corn supply chains (NGM Waxy) respectively.

Key Deliverables

Develop corn supply strategy to achieve or exceed established company targets. Manage corn inventory level with ownership of supplier relationships including daily scheduling.Knowledgeable with current grain marketing patterns and transportation flow.Negotiate with rail carriers/truck shippers to determine the most competitive/cost effective delivery method.Monitor market trends, negotiate prices, implement cost-saving initiatives without impeding on-time deliveries.Ensure quality standards are achieved.  Address quality standards with suppliers to support plant requirementsCollaborate and strategize with team members to create capital projects focusing on supply chain efficiency.Solid understanding and adherence to trade rules and regulations.  Adhere to contractual commitments with suppliers.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

7+ years’ experience in the industry (Grain Accounting is a plus)Bachelor’s degree required.Knowledge and understanding of grain trade rules, basis trading and record keeping.Computer skills with proficiency level (i.e. SAP, Office, Agtech)Demonstrated strong analytical capability including the ability to analyze commodity data and formulate conclusions.Demonstrated ability to perform well in a team environment.Computer skills with proficiency level (i.e. SAP, Office, Teams, Agtech or other grain accounting.)Demonstrated strong analytical capability including the ability to analyze commodity data and formulate conclusions

Pay Range:

$81,680.00-$108,906.67 Annual

This pay range is not a guarantee of compensation or salary. Final base salary will be determined based on several factors which may include but are not limited to responsibilities of the job, education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity, alignment with market data and applicable bargaining agreement (if any).

Incentive Compensation:

As a part of the total compensation package, this role may be eligible for the Ingredion Annual Incentive Plan or a role-specific commission/bonus.
