Job Description

Experience/Education:

Bachelors degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Finance, Industrial Engineering, or related fields (required)5+ years of work experience in the related fields (preferred)Finance/Engineering/Logistics Certifications (preferred)Advanced EnglishMS Office, Tableau, MySQL knowledge

Activities include but not limited to:

Sourcing event bid strategy & managementCoordination and alignment of Pre-RFQ and RFQ package components including Terms & Conditions, SOR, RFQ documentationStrong collaboration with GM legal to draft and improve terms and conditions of complex rail contractsComplete leadership sourcing recommendation / alignment with 100% on-time sourcingManagement of sourcing documentation related to bid events in adherence to the GM Audit ServicesDaily supplier interface activities on all commercial itemsSupport commercial budget and cost reduction (joint process improvement) activitiesSupport logistics supplier management initiatives including “Strategic Supplier Engagement”Nurture relationship with strategic suppliers by acting as a focal point for commercial issue resolutionParticipation in development and review of supplier KPIsLead Quarterly Business Reviews with key suppliersPerform rate management activities including spot buys, fuel surcharge updates, customs tax, annual rail contract pricing adjustments, rate analysis and payment issue inquiriesProvide network and operational support through participation in crisis meetings and execution of the commercial responsibilities of Intra Mexico rail lanes for Material and Vehicles.Strong cross functional collaboration required with vehicle logistics operations, network engineering, finance, technical accounting, and future program teams to create balanced recommendations for total enterprise benefitSupport cost studies with future program and network optimization teams allowing for new vehicle launch in the most efficient mode and further optimizations over life of programManage contract pipelines and keep pipeline updated

Knowledge: 

Strong multi-faceted experience in Logistics and Supply Chains including working knowledge of various logistics modes and supply base dynamicsStrong Commercial Negotiation experienceRobust experience in complex bid and contract managementWorking knowledge in data analysis and bid management softwareWorking experience in data analytics environment

Skills:

Strong purchasing negotiation skills in logistics or other servicesStrong understanding of the network optimization concepts and processStrong Technical capabilities including Data Mining and Analysis including knowledge of SQL, Tableau and MS Access (preferred)Ability to manage complex projectsHigh Analytic Capability in situations which are ambiguous and complexStrong Senior Leadership presentation skillsHigh level of oral and written communications skillsHigh level of interpersonal skillsAbility to both work independently and as a member of cross-functional teamsAbility to lead a project from start to finishDetail oriented and Data DrivenHigh process focusAutomotive industry experienceCapable of interpreting market dataSolid knowledge of contract law and its applications regarding purchasing processesEnergetic and passionate to find solutions to complex supply chain problems


Hybrid position 3 days at office 2 days working from home
