**Summary:**
This role administers employee benefit programs, manages various types of leave, and ensures compliance with federal and state laws. Manages the bi-weekly payroll and manage leave inquiries . The specialist will be required to have strong analytical skills, and exceptional attention to detail. Serve as a subject matter expert on benefit and leave matters and provide guidance to HR colleagues, managers, and employees as needed.
**Primary Responsibilties:**
● Manages the biweekly leave and benefit deductions and audits
● Familiar with various types of benefits
● Provide data reports on benefit enrollment and costs to HR Controlling
● Will be the key individual managing the leave inbox as well as the back up for the benefit inbox
● Ability to communicate (verbal and written) clearly and effectively
● Manage the direct bill process
● Experience required in leave administration (multi-state leave administration preferred)
● Experience in self-funded/self-insured benefits
● Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office products; to include advanced MS Excel skills (including but not limited to Pivot-Tables and Vlookups)

Works independently with minimal supervision, consistently demonstrating exceptional communication skills when engaging with employees, management, and third-party vendors. Proactively contributes to the development, recommendation, and implementation of enhancements to benefits and leave programs that align with organizational goals and support employee satisfaction. Serves as a subject matter expert on all benefit and leave-related matters, providing expert guidance and support to HR colleagues, managers, and employees to ensure understanding and effective utilization of available resources.
**Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:**
Responsible for overseeing and managing payroll processes, audits, and comprehensive benefits and leave programs. Demonstrates strong analytical and critical thinking skills to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency across all HR operations. Expert in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel and Word capabilities, with proficiency in SAP and ADP EV5 systems.
Serves as a subject matter expert on benefit and leave-related matters, including state-specific leaves, COBRA regulations, and qualifying life events. Provides expert guidance and support to HR colleagues, managers, and employees to ensure understanding and effective utilization of available resources.
Effectively manages multiple projects in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and escalating issues as needed. Works independently with minimal supervision, consistently demonstrating exceptional verbal and written communication skills when engaging with employees, management, and third-party vendors.
Proactively contributes to the development, recommendation, and implementation of enhancements to benefits and leave programs that align with organizational goals and promote employee satisfaction.
**Education:**
Bachelor's degree, with coursework in human resources management, business administration or related field.
**Equivalency:**
Depending on the area of assignment, directly related experience or a combination of directly related education and experience and/or competencies may be considered in place of the stated requirements. Example: If a job level requires a Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years of experience, an equivalency could include 6 years of experience, or an Associate’s degree with 4 years of experience.
**Occupational Demands:**
Occupational Demands Form # 9: Work is performed in an office environment with exposure to electrical office equipment. Frequently sits for 6-8 hours per day. Repetitive hand movement of both hands with the ability to make fast, simple, repeated movements of the fingers, hands, and wrists. Frequently walks. Occasionally bends and twists neck. Light to moderate lifting and carrying objects with a maximum lift of 30lbs. Able to communicate information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas so others will understand; with the ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences. Interacts with others, relates sensitive information to diverse groups.
