The Role:
As a Battery System Engineer, you will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, and design innovative consumer product. You will work closely with an internal interdisciplinary team, and outside partners to drive key aspects of product definition and execution. You must be responsive, flexible, and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. In this role, you will:
- Design and verify Li-ion battery system per performance and safety requirements
- Validate battery management systems including protection ICs, Chargers, and Fuel gauge
- Drive battery development and validation for NPI programs
- Execute battery safety and reliability tests
- Create battery specifications
- Work with System and Product Design teams to define capacity/ mechanical outline
- Test and qualify new battery packs and second source battery packs
- Support factory and field issues related to battery. Conduct failure analysis on RMA batteries
- Work with Compliance on battery certification, including CTIA/IEEE172
