As a Sr. Associate, Quality Control Labs supporting Alcon’s Quality & Regulatory Affairs function, you will be trusted to manage the batch release process to ensure quality standards and product specifications are met. In this role, a typical day will include:
Managing the validation of new equipment and upgrades to existing equipment. Must be knowledgeable in using Project Management tools.Use of various measuring devices (automated equipment and hand tools), testing equipment, predetermined methods, operations, setups and prescribed specifications to accept or reject products using component drawings and diagrams. Must be knowledgeable in GD&T.Create new metrology programs on a variety of metrological equipment using touch probes and optics. Analyze the metrology programs for reliability and reproducibility.Must be knowledgeable in statistics to perform Design of Experiments (DoE) and Gage Reproducibility and Reliability (GR&R). Preferred knowledge in using Minitab.Create fixtures using CAD software to support dimensional inspection of components. Preferred knowledge in using Solidworks and in 3D printing.Preferred experience in the metrology of injection molded plastic components.Identify ongoing quality issues, prevents potential production issues, make suggestions for improvement, and update SOPs as needed.Work with InfinityQS (Statistical Process Control software) to collect inspection data of components and provide results to multiple departments across the plant.Perform investigations into non-conformance issues and implement the corrective and preventative actions to resolve the non-conformance.Lead GxP and metrology training of new inspectors.Sufficient metrology knowledge to become a SME in calibration.WHAT YOU’LL BRING TO ALCON:
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs.; Assoc.+6 yrs.; M.S.+0 yrs.) The ability to fluently read, write, understand, and communicate in English2 Years of Relevant ExperiencePREFERED SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:
Experience creating measurement programs to inspect components and understand the component designs.Ability to evaluate measurements and allowable tolerances.CAD experience.Experience in statistics.Validation of equipment and evaluation of materials coming from external vendors.Ability to discuss and understand highly technical specifications to audiences that may not always understand the specifications.Continuous improvement and Quality mindset.HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:
