The Hartford is establishing a dedicated Vendor Management Office as part of the Strategic Sourcing & Real Estate team to establish an enterprise-wide vendor management framework.  This team will work with vendor managers embedded in the lines of business and will collaborate with the Third Party Risk Management Office ensuring that The Hartford manages vendors effectively. 

The Sr. Analyst, VMO reports to the Head of the Vendor Management Office and is responsible for supporting the development, maintenance and evolution of an enterprise-wide vendor management framework in a federated vendor management model.

This role will have a Hybrid work arrangement, with the expectation of working in an office (Hartford, CT) 3 days a week (Tuesday through Thursday).

Key Responsibilities

Maintain vendor inventory and relevant data Develop dashboards and reports for governance metrics and vendor performanceSupport the development of procedures and training materials and participate in workshops for vendor managersSupport updates to policies, tools and processes Assist in reporting needs such as producing reports and analyzing dataSupport the development of vendor performance monitoring tools and procedures

Qualifications

3+ years of experience in vendor management, procurement or third party riskBachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree a plus.Experience working in a vendor management or procurement organizationExperience supporting the development of policies, standards, processes and roles and responsibilities of vendor managers and the vendor management officeKnowledge of vendor management frameworksStrong operational mindset with critical thinking and problem solving skillsExceptional consultative skills with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to present complex information in a clear and concise mannerStrong written and verbal communication and presentation skillsFocused on stakeholder engagement and providing an excellent experienceProject management skills with the ability to implement complex cross-functional initiativesProficient in utilizing modern technologies to enhance productivityProven track record working in a centralized vendor management function in a federated operating model with vendor managers embedded in lines of businessExperience in the insurance or financial services industryExperience implementing vendor performance tracking technology and platforms as well as aggregating and analyzing vendor performance data

Compensation

The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford’s total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:

$80,000 - $120,000
